J. Vazifdar.
Settled in midfield for most of the journey, STAR OF INDIA was ridden with patience by Aleemuddin, who waited for the right opening as the field turned for home. Once asked for an effort, the winner responded gamely, producing a sustained burst down the centre of the track to seize control in the final strides and stop the clock at 1:38.82. The timing of the challenge proved decisive, as STAR OF INDIA asserted authority late to secure a well-judged victory in a tightly contested mile affair.
GLORIOUS STRIDES (J: Suraj Narredu, T: S. Narredu) ran a strong race in defeat to finish second, clocking 1:39.19 after being prominent throughout and fighting on well in the closing stages. STALINGRAD (J: L. Alex Rozario, T: Irfan Ghatala) matched strides in the final run-in and also finished in 1:39.19, completing the top-three in another closely fought finish where little separated the leading contenders.
