A prominent stage in Japanese thoroughbred racing, Tokyo Racecourse will feature a comprehensive 12-race programme on Sunday, 24 May 2026, with the meeting scheduled to run from 10:00 to 16:30. The fixture will bring together contests for three-year-olds and older runners across sprint, middle-distance and staying divisions, while the afternoon programme will be anchored by the Grade 1 Yushun Himba (Japanese Oaks). A substantial purse structure and a balanced race schedule will ensure a competitive day of racing.

A competitive opening to the programme will arrive with Race 1 at 10:00 over 1400m for three-year-olds carrying prize money of 11,280,000 Yen. Takara Eighty, Miesta and Hang Rose are expected to feature in the opening contest as the younger division begins the day’s action with a sprint assignment. Race 2 will then follow at 10:30 over 1600m for three-year-olds with an identical purse of 11,280,000 Yen, where Fiery Beat, Nanyo Loyal and Takka Van Ban are expected to line up for the mile contest

The early stages of the card will continue with Race 3 at 11:00 over 1300m for three-year-olds carrying prize money of 11,280,000 Yen. Luxon Light, Tsukuba Vanguard and So Much are expected among the notable runners in the shorter-distance contest. Race 4 will then take place at 11:30 over 1600m carrying the same purse value and will include Win Terra Gina, Queen’s Park and Releaser among the expected contenders.

The middle section of the programme will gather momentum with Race 5 at 12:20 over 1800m for three-year-olds offering a purse of 11,280,000 Yen. Matricaria, Athena Girl and Kakyu are expected to contest the event. Race 6 will then be staged at 12:50 over 1400m and will carry increased prize money of 15,620,000 Yen with Repunit, Team Utopia and Rhein Sieg expected among the runners.

Attention will gradually shift toward stronger afternoon contests with Race 7 at 13:20 over 2400m for four-year-olds and upward carrying prize money of 15,620,000 Yen. Moonstruck, Poppono Festa and La Familia are expected to line up in the staying contest. Race 8, the Mitsuminesan Tokubetsu, will follow at 13:50 over 1600m for four-year-olds and upward with a purse of 30,610,000 Yen and will include Mille Fleurs, Mandarin Bolero and Classified.

Further depth will be added to the supporting programme with Race 9, the Kokubunji Tokubetsu, scheduled for 14:25 over 1800m for four-year-olds and upward with prize money of 30,480,000 Yen. Art Vivant, Red Valentia and Dream Cruise are expected to feature among the principal runners. Race 10, the Freeway Stakes, will then be run at 15:00 over 1400m with a purse of 36,010,000 Yen and Sky High, Satomino Kirari and Caught Alliciant among the expected runners.

The closing stages of the fixture will centre around the principal attraction of the afternoon with Race 11, the Yushun Himba (Japanese Oaks) Grade 1, scheduled for 15:40 over 2400m for three-year-olds carrying a substantial purse of 323,670,000 Yen. Mitsukane Venera, Lay Classic and Alankar are expected among the anticipated contenders in the feature event. Race 12, the Tanzawa Stakes, will conclude proceedings at 16:30 over 2100m for four-year-olds and upward with prize money of 36,070,000 Yen and will include One Putt, J L Master and Taisei Addict.

Tokyo’s programme will present a blend of developing talent and established performers, while the Japanese Oaks will remain the centrepiece of the meeting.
