The action began with the 5:50 PM Tynedale Agricultural Society Conditional Jockeys’ Handicap Hurdle Race over 2 miles 7 furlongs and 63 yards. It was Jeteye (IRE), partnered by Tom Midgley, who produced a determined performance to claim top honours in the Class 5 contest. Showing patience throughout the race, Midgley kept the gelding settled before asking for a challenge approaching the final hurdles. Jeteye responded impressively in the closing stages, staying on strongly to secure victory after a well-timed ride.
The staying contest demanded stamina and composure, qualities that Jeteye displayed throughout the race. The success marked another solid effort for the Irish-bred runner, who handled the testing trip with confidence and consistency. At 6:20 PM, the Port of Blyth Handicap Steeple Chase over 1 mile 7 furlongs and 133 yards saw Conquer The Breeze (IRE) emerge victorious under Ryan Mania. The Class 4 chase was run at an honest pace, with several runners attempting to take command early on. However, Conquer The Breeze travelled smoothly throughout and produced a sharp jump at the final fence before quickening clear on the run-in.
Ryan Mania delivered a composed ride, ensuring the gelding maintained rhythm over the fences. The victory highlighted the horse’s growing confidence in steeplechase company and added another notable success to Mania’s evening at Hexham.
The 6:50 PM Port of Blyth Novices’ Handicap Steeple Chase over 2 miles 4 furlongs and 15 yards provided another exciting contest. Passengerontheship (IRE), ridden by Richie McLernon, showcased determination and improving jumping ability to land the Class 5 event. The novice chaser remained prominent throughout the race and handled the demanding fences with increasing assurance.
As the field turned for home, Passengerontheship began to assert authority, responding well under pressure to pull away in the closing stages. Richie McLernon’s confident ride ensured the horse maintained momentum, and the partnership proved too strong for their rivals.
The feature staying chase of the evening came at 7:20 PM in the Lynn Siddall Memorial Handicap Steeple Chase over 3 miles and 41 yards. West Lawn, partnered by Danny McMenamin, delivered a powerful staying display to capture the Class 5 event. The contest tested endurance from start to finish, with several runners struggling to maintain the demanding gallop.
West Lawn travelled comfortably through much of the race before making steady headway entering the final circuit. Danny McMenamin judged the pace perfectly and asked the gelding for maximum effort after the final fence. The response was immediate as West Lawn stayed on strongly to secure a deserved success.
Attention then turned to novice hurdlers at 7:50 PM in the Northumberland County Show Novices’ Hurdle Race over 2 miles 4 furlongs and 28 yards. Passing Diamond (IRE), once again giving Richie McLernon success on the evening, produced a polished display in the Class 4 contest.
The Irish-bred runner settled well early before gradually improving position approaching the final hurdles. Passing Diamond showed both stamina and maturity during the latter stages, eventually pulling clear to register an impressive victory. McLernon enjoyed an excellent evening at Hexham and continued his strong partnership with the yard through another confident performance.
The 8:20 PM Port of Blyth Handicap Hurdle Race over the same distance saw Banderas (IRE) continue the successful evening for Richie McLernon. Competing in the Class 4 handicap hurdle, Banderas travelled strongly throughout before producing a decisive late challenge.
The gelding showed plenty of determination approaching the final hurdle and battled gamely on the run to the line. McLernon’s tactical awareness once again proved crucial as he guided the horse into a perfect striking position before delivering the winning effort.
The concluding race at 8:50 PM, the Jason Arnup After Party 6th June Handicap Hurdle Race over 2 miles and 48 yards, brought the meeting to a close in dramatic fashion. Fine Point (IRE), ridden by Ryan Mania, finished the evening on a winning note with a determined display in the Class 5 contest.
Fine Point travelled prominently for much of the race and showed resilience when challenged late on by rivals. Ryan Mania kept the gelding focused in the closing stages, and the pair held on to complete a memorable success under the evening skies at Hexham.
Tuesday’s fixture once again demonstrated Hexham’s reputation for competitive and entertaining jumps racing. Several jockeys enjoyed multiple victories, with Richie McLernon and Ryan Mania both producing standout performances across the card.
