At the Bangalore Turf Club (BTC) , the Bangalore Summer Meeting’s fifth day on Saturday, 16 May 2026, continued with an exciting renewal of Race No. 3, The Quasar Plate DIV I, a Class IV contest for horses rated 20 to 45 over 1400 metres. Run at 4:00 PM, the race produced a polished performance from BAASHHA, who stormed to victory under jockey S. Sachin for trainer Joseph B Awale, clocking 1:26.13 for owner Mr SanthoshP. The latest Bangalore race result 16 May once again highlighted the competitive nature of the summer programme at Bengaluru.
Breaking smartly and settling into a favourable rhythm through the early stages, BAASHHA travelled comfortably behind the pace before being produced with a decisive challenge entering the straight. S. Sachin timed the winning move to perfection, allowing the gelding to quicken impressively in the final furlong and establish control when it mattered most. The Joseph B Awale-trained runner showed determination under pressure and maintained a strong gallop all the way to the winning post.
Runner-up honours went to EXCEED, ridden by J. Chinoy and trained by S.S. Attaollahi, who stayed on gamely to finish in 1:26.41 after keeping the winner within striking distance for much of the contest. NOBLE CAUSE, partnered by L. Alex Rozario for trainer S. Dominic, completed the placings in third with a finishing time of 1:26.95 after making late progress in the closing stages.
Attention at the Bangalore Summer Meeting now shifts to the upcoming The B.T.C. Charitable Trust Trophy scheduled for 4:30 PM, with racegoers anticipating another competitive contest on an entertaining afternoon card.
