Racing action at Bangalore Turf Club (BTC) gathered momentum during the Bangalore Summer Meeting’s third day on Saturday, 09 May 2026, as Jalwa produced a determined finishing effort to land The Dupont Plate, a Class V contest for horses rated 00 to 25 over 1200 metres at 4:00 PM. Trained by Azhar Ali and ridden confidently by Asirvatham, Jalwa clocked 1:15.48 to secure a well-earned victory for owners Mrs Mahima Shailesh, Dr Dayananda Pai P, Mr Naveen Preben Gowda and Mr Kaardam Patel. The latest Bangalore race result 9 May once again highlighted the competitive sprinting action that unfolded throughout the afternoon card.
Breaking smartly and settling into a handy early position, Jalwa travelled fluently behind the pace before being angled out for a decisive challenge in the final furlong. Asirvatham timed the run to perfection, urging the gelding forward at the right moment to gain control inside the closing stages and hold off the late challengers with authority.
Annabelle, partnered by Aleemuddin for trainer Arjun Mangalorkar, finished second after a spirited effort, stopping the clock at 1:15.76. Close behind came Razzmatazz, ridden by S. Sachin and trained by Rajesh Narredu, who claimed third place in 1:15.92 after staying on strongly towards the finish.
With The Dupont Plate concluded, attention now shifts to The Kunigal Stud Trophy scheduled for 4:30 PM, where another competitive contest is expected to keep the Bangalore crowd engaged.
