Six-Race Bangalore Turf Club Sunday Fixture Brings Strong Sprint and Handicap Fields

A balanced afternoon of sprint and middle-distance racing will unfold at Bangalore Turf Club (BTC) on Sunday, 10 May, as the racecourse stages a competitive six-race programme featuring Class II to Class V contests. The fixture will bring together experienced campaigners, emerging performers and several accomplished jockeys across distances ranging from 1200 metres to 1500 metres.

The meeting will begin at 3:00 PM with The Royal Challenge Plate and will conclude at 5:30 PM with The Razeen Plate Div I. Prize money throughout the afternoon will range from Rs.4,50,000 to Rs.7,00,000, while several evenly matched fields are expected to provide competitive racing across the Bengaluru track.

The afternoon’s opening contest will place the focus on Race 1, The Royal Challenge Plate, which will start at 3:00 PM over 1500 metres for Class V horses rated between 0 and 25. The race will carry total prize money of Rs.4,50,000. AGAPE, partnered by Akshay Kumar, will headline the field alongside PALMA under Laxman Singh and ENJOYABLE ridden by P. Kiran Rai. FRIYA, LEX LUTHOR, MAKOTO, DOUBLE SCOTCH and DR. COLCHESTER will also feature among the declared runners.

A competitive handicap field will assemble for Race 2, The Razeen Plate Div II, scheduled for 3:30 PM over 1400 metres for Class IV runners rated 20 to 45. The contest will offer prize money of Rs.5,10,000. REFINED AGGRESSION with P. Trevor aboard will take on AGRADOR partnered by Antony Raj S. and DR ASH ridden by Rajesh Kumar M. HIGGS BOSON, CHINKY PINKY, HOLD YOUR BREATH, MY SOLITAIRE and PURSUIT OF WEALTH will add further strength to the field.

Attention will shift towards sprint specialists in Race 3, The Agumbe Plate, which will be run at 4:00 PM over 1200 metres for Class III horses rated 40 to 65. Carrying total prize money of Rs.6,30,000, the race will feature a large and competitive 12-runner field. TRUE PUNCH with Suraj Narredu aboard will compete against BATTLE LASS, SILICON STAR and SENOR CHERIE in one of the strongest sprint contests on the programme. FELISA, KABALI, MASTER WAY, DYNAMIC FORCE, LA MCQUEEN, SCARLETTE LADY, ECLIPSE PULSE and BASILICA will also line up in the race.

The middle section of the card will continue with Race 4, The Mother’s Day Trophy, which will take place at 4:30 PM over 1500 metres for Class III runners rated 40 to 65. The race will also carry prize money of Rs.6,30,000. THE LEADER under Akshay Kumar, MAANA partnered by Antony Raj S., and SUNSHINE with Suraj Narredu aboard will feature among the principal contenders. AQUASTIC, CORINTHIAN, STORM SHADOW, MYSTICAL AIR and SASSY will complete the field.

The feature event of the afternoon will arrive in Race 5, The Capricorn Stud Plate, scheduled for 5:00 PM over 1300 metres for Class II horses rated 60 to 85. Offering the highest purse on the card at Rs.7,00,000, the race will bring together several accomplished runners. IRISH COFFEE with Arul J H aboard will line up against PROMISEOFTHEFUTURE ridden by Pavan and STELLANTIS partnered by IndraJeet Singh. EFFICACY, JERSEY KING, VICTORIA DORESAANI and LUX AETERNA will also feature in the quality field.

The concluding stages of the meeting will feature another closely matched handicap as Race 6, The Razeen Plate Div I, closes the programme at 5:30 PM over 1400 metres for Class IV runners rated 20 to 45. The race will offer total prize money of Rs.5,10,000. UNFORGETTABLE STAR with A.A. Vikrant, EL REY partnered by P. Trevor and OXYTOCIN ridden by P. Kiran Rai will headline the final contest of the day. STRAVINSKY, VALIANT STREAM, CHOTIPARI, GLORIOUS STRIDES, DIVO and PRINCE OF WALES will also feature among the declared runners.

The Sunday programme at Bangalore Turf Club will present a balanced mix of sprint and middle-distance contests, with competitive fields and experienced riders expected to shape an engaging afternoon of racing across all six events.
