A substantial Godolphin draft featuring broodmares, race fillies and progressive racehorses has emerged as one of the centrepieces of the Inglis Digital May (Early) Online Sale, which is now open for bidding and set to conclude across Wednesday and Thursday.
The catalogue has attracted strong interest from breeders and bloodstock buyers, with 472 lots entered across the auction. Of those, 262 lots form part of the Australian Broodmare Sale Session, dedicated exclusively to broodmares and race fillies, while the remaining catalogue includes racehorses, yearlings, shares and breeding prospects.
Among the headline entries are 43 Godolphin broodmares and 13 Godolphin racehorses, featuring stakes-winning performers, stakes producers and young horses with active racing profiles. The draft also includes mares carrying pregnancies to some of the most sought-after stallions in international breeding.
The Godolphin consignment contains daughters of leading stallions including Exceed And Excel, Street Cry, Medaglia d’Oro, Too Darn Hot, Lonhro, Street Boss, Commands and Harry Angel. Ten of the mares offered are by Exceed And Excel, continuing the strong representation of proven Australian bloodlines within the sale.
The Inglis Digital May (Early) Online Sale also features several mares connected to elite-level form, adding further depth to the catalogue assembled by major nurseries such as Arrowfield, Newgate, Yulong, Tyreel, Aristia Park and Alma Vale.
Recent Godolphin online drafts have already produced notable performers, with Sandpaper, Barber and Hong Kong winner Pegas progressing after changing hands through previous sales.
Another standout entry is Group 1 winner Affaire A Suivre, the Australasian Oaks heroine who is offered in foal to Not This Time. The mare, now based in Kentucky, carries an early September cover to the American stallion, whose growing influence continues to drive international demand.
Not This Time has established himself among the leading sires in North America, producing 73 stakes winners at a strong winners-to-runners ratio. His commercial popularity has also surged through recent yearling sales, where multiple offspring realised seven-figure prices.
Aristia Park adds further intrigue to the sale through the offering of stakes-performed mare Angiolleta, who is in foal to Baaeed. The unbeaten European star retired to stud as a six-time Group 1 winner and one of the highest-rated horses of recent seasons.
Affaire A Suivre and Angiolleta will both be offered during Thursday’s Australian Broodmare Sale Session, which contains 200 broodmares and 62 race fillies.
The broader catalogue scheduled to close from Wednesday morning includes 99 racehorses, 48 racehorse shares, 32 yearlings, 19 weanlings, five unraced horses, four two-year-olds, two breeding rights and one stallion.
With major international pedigrees, established racetrack performers and commercial breeding prospects spread throughout the catalogue, the Inglis Digital May (Early) Online Sale is expected to generate strong activity across both sessions this week.
The scale and diversity of the catalogue are also expected to attract strong international participation, particularly from buyers seeking proven Australian and European bloodlines with residual breeding value. The presence of mares in foal to emerging and established stallions adds another commercial layer to the sale, while younger race fillies and lightly raced stock provide opportunities for owners looking to strengthen racing operations ahead of the new season.
Industry observers have noted that online bloodstock auctions continue to grow in significance, offering breeders and racing stables wider access to quality stock across multiple regions. This year’s Inglis Digital May (Early) Online Sale reflects that trend through its broad mix of elite pedigrees, black-type performers and commercial broodmare prospects. The inclusion of Group 1 performers, stakes producers and close relations to top-level winners ensures the catalogue appeals to a wide spectrum of buyers, from established breeding farms to emerging investors seeking long-term value within the international thoroughbred market.
