At the Bangalore Turf Club, Race 2 of the Bangalore Summer Meeting (2nd day, Sunday, 03 May 2026) delivered a tightly contested sprint as MNEMOSYNE asserted her class in The Belmont Park Plate Div II. Run over 1200 metres for Class IV horses rated 20 to 45 at 03:30 PM, the Azhar Ali-trained runner, ridden by Akshay Kumar, clocked 1:14.51 to secure a well-earned victory for owner Mr Satish G Kundapur.
In the context of the Bangalore race result 3 May, this performance stood out for its balance of patience and acceleration. MNEMOSYNE broke evenly and was positioned just off the early pace, conserving energy through the initial furlongs. As the field straightened for home, Akshay Kumar angled her into a clear run, and she responded with a sustained burst, gradually asserting control in the final strides to edge ahead of her closest rivals.
NIGHT RAIDER (J: Arvind Kumar. N, T: Irfan Ghatala) finished a strong second, stopping the clock at 1:14.75 after pressing the winner late. MUTUAL TRUST (J: Asirvatham, T: S.S. Attaollahi) was right in the mix as well, claiming third in 1:14.76, with the top three separated by the narrowest of margins in a thrilling finish.
With this race concluded, attention now turns to The Royal Command Plate Div I scheduled at 04:00 PM, where another competitive field is set to take centre stage.
