Racing returns to Bangalore Turf Club (BTC) on Friday, 1 May, with the opening day of the season carrying an added sense of anticipation after a long break from action at the Garden City circuit. BTC will stage a seven-race programme beginning at 3:00 PM, with Class V, Class IV, Class III and maiden contests spread between 1100 metres and 1400 metres, setting up a competitive and closely watched afternoon for racing followers.

In the opening act of the day’s proceedings at the Garden City circuit, The Camino Plate Division II will be run at 3:00 PM over 1200 metres for Class V horses rated 00 to 25 carrying prize money of Rs.4,50,000. The field will feature TYAARAA ridden by Antony Raj S, ZAYANA partnered with Pavan, STAR OF THE FUTURE with Rayan Ahmed R, JOLIE’S STAR with P Mani, along with RISING FORM, MERICLE BEAUTY, N R I MILLENNIUM, MYSTICAL QUEEN, DR COLCHESTER, EMBOSOM and EMERALDO. A large and closely matched field is expected to ensure a steady and competitive start to the card.

Moving into the early rhythm of the card, The Epsom Plate Division II will be staged at 3:30 PM over 1300 metres for Class IV horses rated 20 to 45 with prize money of Rs.5,10,000. IMPERADOR partnered with Mukesh Kumar from Hyderabad, ADORNMENT ridden by Akshay Kumar, VIBRANT QUEEN with L Alex Rozario and JOYFUL SPIRIT with R Vaibhav headline the lineup alongside STALINGRAD, FREDERIKA, HUSHED, QUEENDOM, GLAZE and FEMME FATALE. The extended trip will test stamina and positioning.

Settling into the mid-card phase of action, The Camino Plate Division I will take place at 4:00 PM over 1200 metres for Class V horses rated 00 to 25 with prize money of Rs.4,50,000. WINDCLEAVER ridden by Vishwa V, ZEPHYRINE with Pavan, AGRIMA partnered with P Trevor, IMPERIAL STAR with G Praveen along with LADYNESS, ROYAL JEWEL, VISONS DREAM, ENJOYABLE, INFINITE SPIRIT, BLUE SAINT and RECREATOR form a competitive field where timing will be crucial.

As the opening day programme gathers depth, The Pattadakal Plate will be staged at 4:30 PM over 1400 metres for Class IV horses rated 20 to 45 carrying prize money of Rs.5,10,000. THRILL OF BRAZIL ridden by Mukesh Kumar from Hyderabad, EL ALAMEIN partnered with Neeraj Rawal, BELLAVITA with S Sachin, EBOTSE with Aleemuddin along with GOLDEN TIME, GANDOLFINI, STENTORIAN, SUNDANCE KID and THE GOLDEN DREAM complete a balanced field where stamina will be tested.

Approaching the feature segment of the card, The International Labour Day Trophy will be held at 5:00 PM over 1100 metres for maiden three year olds with the highest prize money of Rs.11,00,000. BUREVESTNIK partnered with P Trevor, LEGACY FIELD with Akshay Kumar, NIMBUS SPEED with Rayan Ahmed R and BRAVE HEART with D Patel headline the juvenile contest alongside CHARMING PROSPECT, COUNTRY’S MCQUEEN, DEEP RESPECT, FIRST CHOICE and PORTIEUX. All runners will target a breakthrough win.

Entering the closing stages of the Bangalore Race Cards 1 May fixture, The Usha Stud Plate will be run at 5:30 PM over 1400 metres for Class III horses rated 40 to 65 with prize money of Rs.6,30,000. MAGNUS ridden by Neeraj Rawal, EAGLE EYE partnered with P Trevor, TOLKIEN with Akshay Kumar, WINFIELD with Antony Raj S along with D FRONX, AHERNE, FLAMING SWORD, FINLEY, MOON STAR and DOUBLE VISION form a strong field where class will be decisive.

Bringing the opening day action to a close, The Epsom Plate Division I will be run at 6:00 PM over 1300 metres for Class IV horses rated 20 to 45 carrying prize money of Rs.5,10,000. ZILFEE ridden by Rayan Ahmed R, HAZEL with Akshay Kumar, OXYTOCIN with P Kiran Rai and ROCKING STAR with L Alex Rozario headline the field alongside CARAT LOVE, ELVEDEN, LARISSA, AUCTAV and MAGESTIC PERSONA in a tightly contested finale.
