At the celebrated and consistently competitive Musselburgh Racecourse, a well-structured programme of seven races was conducted on 4 April, presenting a balanced afternoon of flat racing across sprint, middle-distance, and staying categories. The fixture progressed in an orderly fashion, with each contest producing clearly defined results, established finishing orders, and accurately recorded timings, reflecting the overall efficiency of the meeting.

Commencing the proceedings with a steadily run opener that established the early rhythm, the Royal Mile Handicap Stakes (Class 3) was secured by Strength of Spirit, who travelled smoothly before asserting under Sam James. Trained by K. R. Burke for Hambleton Racing XLVIII & Mrs E Burke, the winner completed the race in 1m 41.52s. Vincenzo Peruggia finished second, while Monoceros took third place.

Maintaining the competitive tempo through the early stages of the card, the Silver Arrow Handicap Stakes (Class 2) saw Bellarchi deliver a controlled performance from a prominent position. Ridden by Andrew Mullen and trained by Grant Tuer for Nick Bradley Racing 19 and partner, the winner recorded 1m 27.94s. Golden Mind finished second with a steady effort, followed by Goldmoyne in third.

Taking centre stage as the principal feature and a test of stamina, the Goliath Cup Stakes (Class 1) (Listed Race) was won by Al Qareem, who demonstrated strong staying ability over the extended trip. Clifford Lee partnered the K. R. Burke-trained runner to victory for Nick Bradley Racing 33, Burke & partner in a time of 3m 03.53s. Mount Atlas secured second place, while Kate O’Riley finished third.

Turning attention toward endurance-based competition, the Queen’s Cup Handicap Stakes (Class 3) was claimed by Team Player, who was ridden with patience before asserting in the closing stages. Under Greg Fairley, the Ewan Whillans-trained runner completed the race in 3m 06.02s for owner Mr Les de la Haye. Dancingwithmyself finished second, while Wise Eagle secured third place.

Showcasing sharp speed and precision over the minimum trip, the Scottish Sprint Cup Handicap Stakes (Class 2) was won by Pilgrim, who produced an efficient and well-timed performance. William Pyle guided the David & Nicola Barron-trained runner to victory for Mr H. D. Atkinson in 1m 00.49s. Gangsta Man finished second, while Lexington Blitz took third place.

Providing a platform for emerging runners to display their ability, the EBF Restricted Maiden Stakes (Class 4) was secured by Adonius, who showed promise under Kaiya Fraser. Trained by Rebecca Menzies for Mr Michael Hughes, the winner recorded 1m 01.77s. Katie’s Knight finished second, while Super Alpha placed third.

Bringing the afternoon’s proceedings to a composed conclusion, the Handicap Stakes (Class 4) was won by Wheels of Fire, who was ridden with precision by Sean Levey. Trained by Richard Hannon for Mrs Fitri Hay, the winner completed the race in 1m 01.16s. Montezuma finished second, while Al Hussar secured third place.
