Race 4 of the CALCUTTA RACES, SUMMER MEETING, NINTH DAY on Friday, 3rd April, 2026 saw a sharp sprint contest in The Adelita Handicap Div II, a Class IV race over 1100 metres. In what will be noted among the day’s key Kolkata race result 3 March highlights, Sir Winston (J: Suraj Narredu) delivered a decisive performance to land the spoils for trainer Vijay Singh, representing the colours of M/s Arun Alagappan Racing LLP.

Breaking smartly and settling into a handy position, Sir Winston travelled comfortably through the early stages as the field set a brisk pace. Approaching the final furlong, Suraj Narredu angled the gelding for a clear run, and once asked for an effort, Sir Winston responded gamely. Showing a neat turn of foot, he surged ahead in the closing strides to assert his authority and secure a well-earned victory.

Horus The Great (J: Jitu Singh, T: B Rajender Reddy) ran a creditable race to finish second after staying on steadily in the straight, while Honey Cake (J: R S Bhati, T: Shyam S Habbu) claimed third, keeping on without quite matching the winner’s finishing burst. The minor placings were closely contested, reflecting the competitive nature of the sprint.

With this race concluded, focus now shifts to the upcoming The Sunray Handicap scheduled at 04:00 PM, where another tightly matched field is expected to line up.
