When the clock begins ticking and the turf comes alive under the floodlights, the Bahrain Turf Club (BTC) will present an eight-race programme on Friday, 3 April, bringing together a well-structured card that will run from 4:00 pm to 7:30 pm. The meeting will showcase a carefully balanced mix of sprint, mile, and staying contests, offering a steady progression of distances and a varied test for runners across age groups. With competitive fields expected throughout, the meeting will maintain a consistent rhythm from the opening race to the concluding contest, ensuring a full afternoon and evening of racing interest.

With the programme underway, Race 1, the HM The King’s Cup, will be run at 4:00 pm over 1600 metres with a total prize of USD 20,000 for horses aged four years and above. Shortly thereafter, Race 2, the GFH Cup, will follow at 4:30 pm over 1400 metres carrying a total prize of USD 30,000 for three-year-olds and above. These opening contests will set the tone for the card, combining a mile test with a sharper sprint that will reward both stamina and early speed.

As the action progresses into middle-distance territory, Race 3, the BAPCO Energies Cup, is scheduled for 5:00 pm over 2000 metres with a total prize of USD 16,000 for three-year-olds and above. Building on the intensity, Race 4, the Chairman’s Cup by Binaa, will be run at 5:30 pm over 1000 metres with a total prize of USD 50,000 for horses aged four years and above. This segment will present a clear contrast between stamina and speed, with the sprint expected to unfold at a rapid tempo from the outset.

Turning towards the longer and more demanding contests, Race 5, another running of the HM The King’s Cup, will take place at 6:00 pm over 2400 metres with a total prize of USD 55,000 for three-year-olds. Continuing in the same staying bracket, Race 6, also titled HM The King’s Cup, is scheduled for 6:30 pm over 2400 metres with a total prize of USD 400,000 for horses aged four years and above. This feature contest will stand as the highlight of the meeting, drawing stronger contenders for a rigorous test over the extended trip.

As the card approaches its final phase, Race 7, the Al Methaq Mile, will be staged at 7:00 pm over 1600 metres with a total prize of USD 120,000 for horses aged four years and above. Finally bringing the meeting to a close, Race 8, the Avenues-Bahrain Cup, will conclude at 7:30 pm over 1600 metres with a total prize of USD 16,000 for three-year-olds and above. These concluding mile contests will ensure a fitting end to a well-structured programme.

Across the Bahrain Race Cards 3 April, the programme will reflect a thoughtfully curated blend of race distances and conditions, ensuring that each contest contributes meaningfully to the overall flow of the meeting. The variety of sprint, mile, and staying races will allow different types of runners to demonstrate their strengths under suitable conditions, while the inclusion of higher-value contests will add depth and quality to the card.
