The fifth race on the card at the Calcutta Races, Summer Meeting’s eighth day on Friday, 27th March 2026, saw SEA EAGLE deliver a commanding performance in The Oakmead Handicap Div II, a Class IV contest over 1400 metres held at 04:30 PM. Trained by Neil Darashah and ridden with assurance by Antony Raj S., the winner, representing M/s Manjri Horse Breeders’ Farm Pvt Ltd along with Mr Hemant Dharnidharka, Mr Anjan Kumar Rangaraj & Mr Kishore Reddy, stamped authority on the field with a decisive finish.

In what shaped up as a competitive event, those following the Kolkata race result 27 March would have noted how Sea Eagle travelled smoothly through the early stages, settling comfortably before being produced at the right moment. As the field straightened for home, Antony Raj S. timed his run to perfection, asking for an effort that quickly put the race beyond doubt. The mare responded gamely, quickening clear to assert superiority in the final furlong.

Runner-up honours went to OH MY DARLING, piloted by Varun and trained by Vikash Jaiswal, who stayed on steadily but could not match the winner’s finishing burst. THREE LITTLE WORDS, under Vinod Shinde for trainer Rutherford Alford, claimed third after a consistent effort through the stretch.

With this race concluded, attention now turns to the upcoming feature, The Bangalore Turf Club Cup, scheduled for 05:00 PM, where a stronger field promises another compelling contest on an engaging afternoon of racing.
