The second race on the card at the Calcutta Races Summer Meeting’s seventh day on Thursday, 26th March 2026, saw Italian Gold deliver a polished performance to land The Brave Pratiach Handicap, a Class V contest for horses rated 1–26 over 1400 metres at 03:30 PM. Representing owner Mrs Sabra Begum, the Shafiq Khan-trained runner, ridden with confidence by Imran Chisty, asserted authority at the business end to secure a well-earned victory. This result adds another highlight to the Kolkata race result 26 March roundup, reflecting a competitive afternoon on the track.

Breaking well from the gates, Italian Gold settled into a handy position just off the early pace, conserving energy as the field found its rhythm down the backstretch. As the runners approached the home turn, Chisty began to nudge his mount forward, timing the challenge to perfection. Once in the straight, Italian Gold responded gamely, quickening clear under strong riding to put the race beyond doubt in the final furlong.

Pyrgos, under Hasib Alam for trainer Aashay Doctor, kept on steadily to claim second, while Midnight Star, partnered by Suraj Narredu and trained by Neil Darashah, finished third after making late progress.

With this race concluded, attention now shifts to The Euphrates Cup scheduled at 04:00 PM, where another competitive field is set to line up in what promises to be an engaging contest.
