Satheesh, delivered a composed and timely performance to secure victory for owner Dr M A M Ramaswamy Chettiar of Chettinad Charitable Trust, represented by Dr Mrs Meena Muthiah. Settled well through the early stages, GENIE travelled comfortably in mid-pack as the field maintained a steady pace. Approaching the home turn, jockey MD Ekram Alam began to inch closer, positioning the horse for a decisive run. Once into the straight, GENIE responded gamely, quickening with purpose and asserting dominance in the final furlong to pull away from rivals with authority.
ANEMOI, under Surya Prakash and trained by Mir Faiyaz Ali Khan, ran a commendable race to finish second after staying within striking distance for much of the journey. N R I STAR, partnered by P. Trevor for trainer M Srinivas Reddy, produced a steady late effort to claim third, rounding off the placings in a competitive finish.
Earlier in the day, the action began with SHOOTING STAR taking top honours in Race No. 29, The Osman Sagar Plate Div II over 1100 metres, with B. R. Kumar in the saddle for trainer R. H. Sequeira and owner Mr S Pathy, while CYPRESS and AQUATONE filled the minor placings. Race No. 30, The Yadadri Plate, saw BUDDY score an impressive win under Mukesh Kumar for trainer Magan Singh Parmar, representing Mr Subodh Kumar Ananthula and Dr Prabhakar Chowdary Tripuraneni, with YALI and QUATTRO finishing second and third respectively.
The sprint contests continued in Race No. 31, The Osman Sagar Plate Div I, where PETRA ACT delivered another success for jockey Mukesh Kumar and trainer Magan Singh Parmar, owned by a partnership including Boppidi Sham Sunder Reddy and others, ahead of CLARITY and BRIAR RIDGE. In Race No. 32, The Sea Bird Plate, N R I HIGH POWER powered home to victory under Mukesh Kumar for trainer D Netto and owners Ravinder Reddy Male, Suchit Jayraj Shah and Dr Prabhakar Chowdary Tripuraneni, with SHARANGA and FOXY GIRL completing the frame.
The highlight of the afternoon, Race No. 33, The Golconda St. Leger (Grade II) over 2800 metres, saw DYF produce a commanding staying performance under P. Trevor for trainer Adhiraj Singh Jodha, representing a large ownership group led by Five Stars Shipping Company Private Limited, while RAMIEL and GET LUCKY finished in the placings. The penultimate contest, Race No. 34, The Dream Girl Plate over 1400 metres, went the way of KNIGHT REGENT, ridden by P. Trevor and trained by L V R Deshmukh for owner Mr C Aryama Sundaram, with BLUE PANTHERESS and LIFES JOURNEY taking second and third respectively.
