Racing will return to the Nottinghamshire-based Southwell Racecourse on Saturday, where a carefully structured eight-race all-weather programme will be conducted across the afternoon. The fixture will feature a blend of apprentice handicaps, novice contests, and higher-grade events, with distances ranging from sharp sprints to extended middle-distance races. The card will bring together runners of varying experience levels, ensuring a balanced examination of pace, stamina, and tactical positioning on the Tapeta surface.

The opening contest, The Midnite Apprentice Handicap Stakes (Class 6), will be run at 1:43pm over 6f 16y for a prize of £7,200. A field of seven will include Tuscan Point, Bullington Bry, Mount Ruapehu, Amerjeet, and Ardaddy, with the race expected to reward those able to secure an early position.

Race 2 at 2:20pm, The Golden Goals Handicap Stakes (Class 6), will be staged over 1m 13y with prize money of £9,000. Eleven runners are set to go to post, including Fifty Sent, Heretic, Ribston Pippin, Trais Fluors, and Mr Fustic, in a contest likely to be shaped by steady early fractions and a sustained finish.

The third race at 2:53pm, The Restricted Novice Stakes (Class 4) (Division I) (GBB Race), will cover 1m 13y and carry a prize of £10,000. August Spring, Timber Twelve, and Clatford headline the entries, while Flash Kozo and Cobalt Comet will add further depth to a nine-runner field of progressive types.

At 3:28pm, Race 4, (Division II) will also be run over 1m 13y for £10,000. Portman Blue, Sweetstevie, Alembic, Lorton Valley, and Tough Date are among nine runners expected to line up, offering another informative contest for lightly raced horses.

Race 5 at 4:03pm, The Fillies’ Restricted Novice Stakes (Class 4), will be contested over 7f 14y with prize money of £10,000. A field of six is due to include Baandee, Irish Incentive, Ndoto, Tenzi, and Curtain Caller, with the smaller field placing emphasis on positioning and race awareness.

The feature event, Race 6 at 4:38pm, The Midnite A Next Generation Handicap Stakes (Class 2), will be run over 4f 215y for £30,000. Twelve runners are expected, including Clarendon House, Spartan Arrow, Miss Attitude, Kylian, and Gaeli. The sharp sprint trip will demand immediate acceleration and precision throughout.

Race 7 at 5:13pm, The Fillies’ Handicap Stakes (Class 5), will be staged over 1m 4f 14y with a prize of £8,400. Lilly Lux, Little Miss India, Solar Pass, Green Sky, and Velvet Red feature among eight runners set to compete, with stamina expected to play a decisive role.

The concluding contest at 5:43pm, Race 8, The Handicap Stakes (Class 5), will be run over 7f 14y for £8,400. A full field of 12 is expected, including Grabajabba, Blazing Son, Great, Chesneys Charm, and Thurso, bringing the meeting to a competitive close.
