Amid the bustling paddocks and stables, Hyderabad Race Club (HRC) will orchestrate a distinguished seven-race programme on Monday, 16 March. As the afternoon progresses, racing aficionados will witness a meticulously arranged schedule encompassing Class III, Class IV, and maiden events for three-year-old and older horses. With total prize money ranging from Rs.6,50,000 to Rs.12,25,000, the meeting promises an afternoon of tactical sprints and middle-distance contests, showcasing both emerging equine talent and seasoned performers.

The programme will commence at 3:00 PM with The Own Opinion Plate, a 1200-metre Class IV handicap for horses aged four and older, rated 20 to 45, offering a prize of Rs.6,50,000. Notable entrants include Double Bubble ridden by Sonu Kumar, Beverley ridden by P Ajeeth Kumar, Nkalanzinzi ridden by B Nikhil, as well as La Fleuriere, See My Attitude, Special Star, and Star Councillor. Trainers will aim to instill an assertive early pace as the day’s opening sprint unfolds.

At 3:35 PM, The Elusive Hero Plate will traverse 1400 metres for Class III horses rated 40 to 65, with a prize of Rs.7,40,000. Expected runners include Armstrong ridden by MD Ekram Alam, Federer ridden by H M Akshay, Miss Smiley Angel ridden by Sonu Kumar, alongside Misty Night, Corte Madera, Certanity, and Mystical Dawn. This contest will test a harmonious blend of speed and stamina over the extended sprint distance.

The Democracy Plate, scheduled for 4:05 PM, is a 1600-metre Class IV handicap for horses rated 20 to 45, offering a total purse of Rs.6,50,000. Anticipated entrants include Arizona Sun ridden by Akshay Kumar, Cape May ridden by Suraj Narredu, Das ridden by Rafique S K, alongside Shubhrak, Real Thalaivaa, Sadiya, and Silver Arrow. Competitors will be required to demonstrate both strategic positioning and sustained finishing strength over the mile distance.

Following that, The Armagnac Plate at 4:35 PM will be contested over 1200 metres for Class III horses rated 40 to 65, with a prize of Rs.7,40,000. Noteworthy runners include Warwick ridden by Mohit Singh, High Reward ridden by Abhay Singh, Challenger ridden by MD Ekram Alam, alongside Mix The Magic, Deccan Spirit, Emperors Charm, and Sweet Dancer. Horses capable of rapid acceleration and a compelling sprint finish will be expected to dominate the early stages.

At 5:05 PM, the Himalaya Plate, a 1400-metre maiden race for three-year-olds, will offer Rs.12,25,000 in prize money. Entrants include Garfunkle ridden by P Trevor, Gold Touch ridden by Kuldeep Singh (Sr), Royal Navy ridden by MD Ekram Alam, along with Twilight King, Grit N Grace, Madante, and Northern Sky. This maiden contest presents a valuable opportunity for emerging horses to display promise and secure their initial victories.

The penultimate event, The Time and Place Plate, scheduled at 5:35 PM, will cover 1400 metres for four-year-olds and older, with a total prize of Rs.11,63,750. Expected runners include Truth ridden by Imran Chisty, Ashoka ridden by Akshay Kumar, Nonpariel ridden by Mukesh Kumar, alongside Akido, Espionage, Vivaldo, and Diablo. Competitors will need to balance steady pace with finishing acceleration to contest the upper placings.

The seven-race programme will conclude with The Bloomer Plate at 6:05 PM, a 1200-metre Class V handicap for horses rated up to 25, offering a prize of Rs.12,25,000. Runners to watch include Amboseli ridden by P Uday Kiran, London Bell ridden by Rafique S K, Star Cruise ridden by Kuldeep Singh (Sr), along with Always Special, Natu Natu, Exponent, and Muaser. Horses capable of a sharp burst in the final furlongs will be expected to contend for the day’s final honours.
