The afternoon card at Mumbai Racecourse continued to unfold with Race 2, The Open Spaces Million, a Class V handicap for Indian horses rated 1 to 26 over a sprint distance of 1200 metres, held on Sunday, 15 March 2026 at 04:25 PM.
Delivering a confident performance, Renaissance (J: Yash Narredu) secured a well-earned victory for trainer M. Narredu, representing the ownership partnership of Dr Ram H Shroff & Mr Raj H Shroff rep Stride Livestock Pvt Ltd, Mr Sameer H Tapia, Mr Zahir Tapia, Mr Ajay K Arora, Mr Akhtar Adamji Peerbhoy, Mrs Shahnaz A Peerbhoy, Ms Sana A Peerbhoy & Ms Saba A Peerbhoy. The result added another highlight to the Mumbai race result 15 March programme as the sprinter asserted superiority in the closing stages.
The race developed at a brisk tempo from the outset, with several runners vying for early prominence over the short trip. Settled comfortably within striking distance, Renaissance travelled smoothly under Yash Narredu before being produced at the top of the straight. Responding willingly to his rider’s urging, the gelding quickened decisively inside the final furlong to seize control and maintain his advantage through the winning post.
Santana Row (J: P. Trevor, T: Adhirajsingh Jodha) chased gamely to claim second place after attempting to challenge in the home stretch, while Ashwa Ankara (J: Vivek G., T: Sangramsinh N. Joshi) stayed on to secure third position as the field crossed the line in close order.
