LUMBINI finished second with a late effort, while BY CHOICE filled third place.

The programme continued with Race 4 – TAB Pago Pago Stakes, where WARWOVEN produced a well-timed run to capture the event in 1:10.41. Ms R. King partnered the Bjorn Baker-trained runner to victory ahead of OUTSPAN, while CENTRAL EUROPE finished third.

Stayers came to the fore in Race 5 – Asahi Super Dry Sky High Stakes, where VAUBAN produced a commanding display over the distance. T. Clark rode the runner for trainers Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott as the horse travelled smoothly before asserting in the closing stages to record 2:03.00. SOUL OF SPAIN finished second after maintaining a steady rhythm, while JUST FINE completed the top three.

Speed dominated Race 6 – Toyota Forklifts Maurice McCarten Stakes, where FLYING FOR FUN delivered a sharp performance over the sprint trip. Z. T. Lloyd guided the Bryce Heys-trained runner, who showed strong early pace before maintaining the advantage to stop the clock at 1:03.42. MAL COUPE finished second, while KING’S SECRET secured third place.

The feature three-year-old contest, Race 7 – Chandon Phar Lap Stakes, saw SIXTIES record a convincing success. J. B. McDonald partnered the Chris Waller-trained runner, positioning the horse effectively before finishing strongly to record 1:29.70. FEDERALIST finished second after staying on well, while CELLARMASTER claimed third.

The meeting concluded with Race 10 – Schweppes Handicap, where MODELLA provided jockey Z. T. Lloyd with his second winner of the afternoon. Trained by Lee and Cherie Curtis, the runner travelled comfortably before finishing strongly to record 1:22.53. AMREEKIYAH finished second, while CAPTAIN FURAI completed the placings.
