Racegoers at the Kolkata Racecourse were treated to an absorbing contest in Race 5 – The Grand Annual Mile, a 1600m event for three-year-olds only, held at 04:30 PM during the Calcutta Races Summer Meeting’s Third Day on Wednesday, 11 March 2026. Admiringly (J: P. Trevor) delivered a composed and decisive performance to claim the prestigious mile contest for trainer Aashay Doctor. Carrying the colours of Mrs Snigdha Kapoor, Mrs Ruchi Kedia, Mrs Disha Viral Doctor, M/s Arion Horse Co Pvt Ltd, M/s Deciding Factor LLP, Dr S P Sardeshmukh, Mr Farhan Elvis Ahmed, Mr Hemang Devendra Doctor, Mr Viral Devkumar Doctor and Mr Devkumar Devendra Doctor, the colt showed class and balance to secure a stylish victory.
The Kolkata race result 11 March continued to produce compelling racing narratives, and Admiringly’s effort in the mile stood out as a display of measured tactics and finishing power. Settled comfortably through the early stages by P. Trevor, the colt travelled fluently behind the pace before being asked for his effort turning for home. Responding with a smooth burst of acceleration, Admiringly lengthened his stride in the final furlong to assert control and pull clear when it mattered most.
Stormchaser finished second, ridden by Suraj Narredu and trained by Vijay Singh, after staying on gamely in the straight but finding the winner too strong in the closing stages. Third place went to Cape Tigani, partnered by Vinod Shinde and prepared by Aashay Doctor, who kept on steadily to secure the minor placing.
With The Grand Annual Mile decided, attention now turns to the next contest on the card — The Fame Star Handicap, scheduled for 05:00 PM, as the Kolkata Summer Meeting continues to unfold with competitive racing.
