The concluding contest of the HYDERABAD WINTER RACES 2025–2026 (1st Day) came with Race 7 – The Red Satin Plate, a Class IV handicap for horses aged four years and upward rated 20 to 45, run over 1400 metres at 06:10 PM on Monday, March 9, 2026. In a confident late flourish, Andre’ powered home under Antony Raj S. to give trainer Bharath Singh another success on the day.

The winner carried the colours of Ms. A G Bloodstock LLP, represented by Mrs. Anasuya Gupta & Mr. Abhiroop Gupta, Miss Ameeta Mehra, Ms. Atul Singh & Shantanu Sharma, providing a fitting finale to the evening’s racing programme. Followers tracking the Hyderabad race results 9 March witnessed a competitive closing race that wrapped up the opening day on a lively note.

The race developed at a good gallop with several runners eager to secure early positions before the field straightened for the run home. Andre’ travelled comfortably through the early stages as Antony Raj S. kept the runner poised just off the pace. Once angled into the straight, the Bharath Singh trainee responded strongly to pressure, producing a decisive turn of foot inside the final furlong to surge clear and seal the contest convincingly in the closing strides.

Runner-up honours went to Term Deposit, partnered by P Ajeeth Kumar and trained by L. V. R. Deshmukh, who kept on steadily but could not match the winner’s acceleration. Kaizen, ridden by Santosh Raj N R for trainer R. H. Sequeira, finished third after maintaining a consistent run through the final stages.

Earlier in the afternoon, the card began with Race 1 – The Bhupalpally Plate (1200m) at 03:30 PM, where Turiya delivered a polished performance under Antony Raj S. for trainer Bharath Singh, scoring for owner Shantanu Sharma. Equine Power (J: Ajay Kumar, T: K. S. V. Prasad Raju) finished second, while Dream To Fly (J: G Naresh, T: Robin Reddy Kondakalla) took third.

The Republic Plate (Race 2, 1200m) at 04:00 PM saw Bhairava emerge victorious with A. Ashhad Asbar in the saddle for trainer Ananta Vatsalya, winning for owner T. Rakesh Reddy. Knight Crusader (J: B. R. Kumar, T: R. H. Sequeira) filled the runner-up spot ahead of Rival (J: Ajay Kumar, T: K. S. V. Prasad Raju).

Race 3, The Astonish Plate (1100m) at 04:25 PM, produced a strong finish from Star Of Opera, ridden by Akshay Kumar and trained by D. Netto, who scored for the ownership partnership of Mr Rajendran (rep. Rapar’s Galloping Stars LLP), Mr Suchit Jayraj Shah & Dr Prabhakar Chowdary Tripuraneni. Brilliant Lad (J: Yash Narredu, T: Laxman Singh) finished second while Foxy Girl (J: Sonu Kumar, T: M. Srinivas Reddy) took third.

The Suryapet Plate (Race 4, 1400m) at 04:50 PM went to Genie, guided by MD Ekram Alam for trainer K. Satheesh, winning for Dr MAM Ramaswamy Chettiar of Chettinad Charitable Trust represented by Dr Mrs Meena Muthiah. City Cruise (J: Abhay Singh) finished second, while Muaser (J: H. M. Akshay, T: Ananta Vatsalya) came in third.

In Race 5 – The Zoom Zoom Plate (1100m) at 05:20 PM, Super Splash sprinted to victory under P Ajeeth Kumar for trainer L. V. R. Deshmukh, winning for owner Suresh Chintamaneni. Yali (J: Antony Raj S., T: Bharath Singh) ran second, while Quattro (J: Santosh Raj N R, T: R. H. Sequeira) finished third.

Race 6, The Attractress Plate (1200m) at 05:45 PM, produced a commanding effort from Espionage, ridden by Kuldeep Singh (Sr) and trained by D. Netto, scoring for owners M/s Prakash Babu, P Ranga Raju, Dr Tripuraneni Venkata Aditya Chowdary & Mr Donald Anthony Netto. N R I Superpower (J: B. R. Kumar, T: R. H. Sequeira) finished second ahead of Vivaldo (J: Akshay Kumar, T: A. Imran Khan).

With Andre’ bringing down the curtain on the evening in The Red Satin Plate, the opening day of the Hyderabad Winter Races delivered a lively mix of sprint finishes and tactical victories, setting an encouraging tone for the rest of the racing season ahead at the track.
