The opening race of the Hyderabad Winter Races 2025–2026 got underway at 03:30 PM on Monday, March 09, with Race 1 – The Bhupalpally Plate, a Class IV handicap for horses aged four years and upward rated 20 to 45, run over 1200 metres. Setting the tone for the afternoon, Turiya delivered a confident performance under Antony Raj S. to land the contest for trainer Bharath Singh. Carrying the silks of Mr Shantanu Sharma, the winner showed sharp pace and determination to secure the first victory of the day.
For followers tracking the Hyderabad race result 9 March, the sprint provided an early glimpse of competitive racing on the card. Turiya travelled comfortably through the early stages before Antony Raj S. began to press forward approaching the straight. Responding willingly, the filly quickened at the right moment, asserting inside the final furlong and maintaining a decisive advantage to the winning post.
Equine Power, ridden by Ajay Kumar for trainer K S V Prasad Raju, finished a solid second after keeping the winner within range for much of the stretch run. Dream To Fly, partnered by G Naresh and trained by Robin Reddy Kondakalla, stayed on to secure third place as the field completed the six-furlong dash.
