Breaking smoothly from the gates, ALGONQUIN settled in mid-division under Allan’s calm guidance before making a decisive move approaching the final 400 metres. Demonstrating a blend of stamina and well-timed acceleration, the winner surged past the leaders to claim the trophy in commanding style, leaving little doubt about his superiority on the day.
The runner-up honours went to LOOKING LIKE A WOW (J: P. Trevor, T: Subhag Singh), who kept close tabs on the winner throughout the final furlong, finishing just behind in a creditable performance. GIANT GOLD (J: Aditya Waydande, T: Shazaan Shah) closed well in the final strides to take third, ensuring a tightly contested podium for Race 3.
With the cheers still echoing across the course, attention now turns to the 05:30 PM feature, The Intervalve Poonawalla Ltd. Trophy, which promises another contest of strategy and stamina as the evening unfolds.
