Nine-Race Sunday Card Set to Unfold at Royal Western India Turf Club

The Sunday meeting will take place under the stewardship of Royal Western India Turf Club (RWITC), with a nine-race programme scheduled in Mumbai featuring contests across multiple handicap divisions and age-group terms events. The evening fixture will bring together experienced campaigners and developing runners over distances ranging from sharp sprints to staying trips.

The principal staying contest on the card will be The Homi Mody Trophy, a Class I handicap for horses rated 80 and above, scheduled at 4:00 PM over 2400 metres with a total prize fund of Rs.12,00,000. Evaldo, Shubankar, and Regina Memorabilis are expected runners as connections will aim to handle the stamina demands of the extended trip.

At 4:30 PM, three-year-old maidens will compete in The Madras Race Club Trophy, run over 1600 metres with prize money of Rs.12,00,000. Alpha Strike, Antino, Caspian, and Lorenzo are expected to contest the mile event as young runners will seek to open their winning accounts.

The programme will continue with The Amateur Riders’ Club Trophy at 5:00 PM, a Class III handicap conducted over 1600 metres carrying Rs.6,50,000 in stakes. Flaming Lamborgini, Land Of Plenty, Miracle Of Hanukah, and Don Julio are set to feature among participants as amateur riders will handle competitive middle-distance runners.

Three-year-old sprinters will then line up in The Roman Rose Plate, scheduled at 5:30 PM over 1200 metres with a purse of Rs.12,00,000. Gunfire, Golden Axl, Lion Heart, and Phantom Strike are among expected starters in a race where early pace will likely influence the result.

Lower-rated handicap runners will appear next in The V. P. Koregaonkar Plate at 6:00 PM, a Class V contest over 1600 metres for Rs.5,00,000. Renaissance, Tajiri, Beyond Stars, and Key West are expected participants as positioning and stamina will play important roles.

The evening card will move forward with The Municipal Commissioner’s Trophy at 6:30 PM, a Class IV handicap run over 1400 metres offering Rs.5,50,000 in prize money. Lord And Master, Come September, Foujita, and Marcus are set to compete in a contest suited to horses effective over intermediate distances.

Sprint conditions will dominate The T. M. Goculdas Plate, scheduled at 7:00 PM over 1000 metres carrying stakes of Rs.7,50,000. Esperanza, Liban, Cellini, and Your Unforgettable are among the anticipated runners, where fast starts will likely prove decisive.

Four-year-old runners will then compete in The Ahmed I. Rahimtoola Trophy at 7:30 PM, a Class IV handicap over 1200 metres with Rs.5,50,000 in prize money. Money Fair, El Moran, Surrealist, and Lucio are expected contenders seeking improvement within their rating band.

The programme will conclude with The Stunning Plate at 8:00 PM, a Class V sprint run over 1000 metres carrying Rs.5,00,000 in stakes. Mirae, Jet Typhoon, Viennoise, and Arbitrage are likely to contest the final race as the meeting will close with a competitive short-distance event.

Across the evening, trainers and riders will balance pace judgement and tactical placement as the programme progresses, offering a comprehensive test across divisions and distances for runners engaged in the Mumbai season.
