The Kolkata race result 14th february meeting gathered pace in Race 6, The Metropolitan, as PANTAZI delivered a performance worthy of top billing at the SPRING MEETING’s Second Day on Saturday, 14th February, 2026. The 04:30 PM feature, a Class I sprint for horses rated 95 and above over 1200 metres, saw PANTAZI (J: P. Trevor) power home for trainer and owner Aashay Doctor, stamping his authority on elite company with a decisive late surge.
Drawn favourably and breaking smartly, PANTAZI travelled with assurance just off the early speed before P. Trevor angled him into clear running at the top of the straight. With a sharp change of gears inside the final furlong, the bay asserted his class, quickening past the leaders and holding firm under hands-and-heels riding. It was a display of measured patience and controlled aggression — hallmarks of a seasoned sprint campaigner at this level.
Stablemate RAFFAELLO (J: M S Deora, T: Aashay Doctor) chased gamely to claim second, staying on resolutely but unable to bridge the decisive gap. BLACK EAGLE (J: Vishwa. V, T: B Rajender Reddy) finished third after keeping on from midfield, ensuring the minor honours were fought out competitively in the closing strides.
With The Metropolitan settled, attention now turns to The Sentouki Handicap, a Class II contest for horses rated 61–86 (41–66 eligible), where another fiercely contested battle is expected as the Calcutta card moves toward its concluding stages.
