The power-packed Spring Meeting at the Royal Calcutta Turf Club (RCTC) on Saturday, 7 February, will feature seven competitive races, from brisk 1,100-metre sprints to the 2,400-metre Grade III Queen Elizabeth II Memorial Cup, showcasing seasoned campaigners and emerging thoroughbred talent. With prize money ranging from Rs. 3,00,000 to Rs. 18,60,000, the fixture promises a compelling afternoon of speed, stamina, and strategic horsemanship.

Racing will commence at 2:00 PM with The Contralto Handicap, a Class V contest over 1,100 metres. Horses rated between 1 and 26 will compete for Rs. 3,00,000. Notable runners include Royal Member (Shezad Khan), Blazing Black (R Vaibhav), Flaming Grey (V R Jagadeesh), Amalfitana (Gaurav Singh), and Astral Gold (Vishwa V).

At 2:30 PM, the Philippines Cup, a Class II race over 1,600 metres with a Rs. 5,50,000 purse, will feature higher-rated runners. Expected participants include Natural Grace (Vishwa V), Aeropoli (P. Trevor), Zarak (Imran Chisty), and Mindful (Suraj Narredu).

The Ich Dien Handicap, a Class III contest for horses rated 41-66, follows at 3:00 PM over 1,100 metres with Rs. 5,00,000 on offer. Superlative (L Alex Rozario), Merlet (Imran Chisty), Dona Sienna (R Vaibhav), Resplendence (Suraj Narredu), and Aarini (Hindu Singh) are expected to test both pace and precision.

At 3:30 PM, the Green Sari Handicap, another Class III event over 1,400 metres, will feature Polka Dot (R Vaibhav), Dubai Ruler (Hasib Alam), Victorious Omen (Imran Chisty), Xanthe (P. Trevor), and Cash Your Luck (MD Azharuddin), competing for Rs. 5,00,000.

The marquee Queen Elizabeth II Memorial Cup takes centre stage at 4:00 PM. The Grade III, 2,400-metre test for four-year-olds and older carries Rs. 18,60,000 and will see Duke of Tuscany (Suraj Narredu), Golden Kingdom (M. S. Deora), High Command (Imran Chisty), and Main Street (P. Trevor) face a stern examination of stamina and strategy.

The meeting concludes with two divisions of the Mamma’s Mink Handicap. Division I (Class IV) over 1,400 metres at 4:30 PM will feature Keitaro (Vinod Shinde), Enchanting (Suraj Narredu), Queen of Mafia (L Alex Rozario), Zambezi (Hindu Singh), and Cristaldo (MD Imran) for Rs. 4,00,000.

Division II at 5:00 PM will see Amaze and Inspire (P. Trevor), Indian Jack (Arman Khan), Wonderful (L Alex Rozario), Power Racer (Gaurav Singh), and Northbound (Varun) compete for Rs. 4,00,000.

With a blend of sprints, middle-distance, and staying races, the Kolkata Race Cards 7 February offer a rigorous test of skill and endurance, ensuring a dynamic afternoon of strategic racing for jockeys, owners, and spectators alike.
