Saturday’s Mumbai race result 31 January card produced another compelling finish as Zafferano dominated The Enigma Trophy in polished fashion at the Mumbai Meeting 2025/26, Tenth Day. Race 2, run over 1600m for Class III Indian horses rated 40 to 66 (20 to 39 eligible), was staged at 03:00 PM on 31st January 2026, where ZAFFERANO (J: P. Trevor) delivered a measured and decisive victory for trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha. Carrying the colours of Mr K N Dhunjibhoy, Mr Z K Dhunjibhoy & Ms Anosha Meyers rep Five Stars Shipping Co Pvt Ltd & Mr A S Narielwala, the winner clocked a smart 1:37:476, stamping authority on the contest.

From the break, the tempo built steadily with several contenders vying for early track position, but P. Trevor ensured Zafferano settled into a comfortable rhythm through the backstretch. Approaching the home turn, the eventual winner began to cruise closer under confident handling, and once angled into the straight, Zafferano quickened impressively to assert control, drawing clear in the final furlong with a blend of balance and acceleration that left the chasing pack struggling to respond.

Runner-up honours went to Tyrannus (J: Akshay Kumar, T: Imtiaz A. Sait), who stayed on gamely in pursuit of the leader. Black Thunder (J: Ramswarup, T: Rehanullah Khan) finished third after battling on through the closing stages.

With The Enigma Trophy decided, focus now shifts quickly to the next contest on the card, The Dancing Prances Trophy at 03:30 PM, as the afternoon’s Mumbai meeting continues to build towards its headline races.
