Oaks and Big-Money Features Light Up Bahrain Turf Club on Thursday Night

Racing at The Bahrain Turf Club (BTC) will take place on Thursday, 29 January, with a competitive nine-race evening programme scheduled under lights. The Bahrain Race Cards 29 January will feature contests ranging from 1,000 metres to 2,400 metres, with prize money starting at BHD 8,000 and rising to BHD 80,000 for the night’s headline events.

Proceedings will get underway at 5:30 pm with the Gulf Air Cup, a 1,200-metre race for four- and five-year-olds carrying prize money of BHD 8,000. Al Saqlawy, Krushan, Kuheilan Aladiyat, Mlolshan, and Musannan will contest the opening sprint, setting the early tempo for the evening.

The Lexus Cup will follow at 6:00 pm over 2,200 metres for three-year-olds and upwards, also worth BHD 8,000. December, Al Yateem, Hattaab, Aajay, and Bint Al Jazeera will line up in a staying contest that will place emphasis on balance and finishing strength.

At 6:30 pm, attention will turn to the Investcorp Cup, a demanding 2,400-metre race for three-year-olds and above with prize money of BHD 12,000. Tartan Chief, Bleak, Knight Of Honour, Signalman, and Malakye will face the longest trip on the card in one of the evening’s most searching tests.

The Grand Seiko – Bahrain Jewellery Centre Cup will be staged at 7:00 pm over 1,400 metres for three-year-olds and upwards. Worth BHD 8,000, the race will feature Call Of Duty, Ezz Albahrain, Asaaff, Mister Dollar, and Pisces in a competitive middle-distance contest.

Race 5 at 7:30 pm will be the Irish Thoroughbred Marketing Cup, run over 1,600 metres and carrying BHD 8,000 in prize money. Alabrar, Atlantic Sky, Gimmie Shelter, Whathappensinvegas, and Cosmo Goodspeed will take part in a balanced mile event for three-year-olds and older runners.

A key moment in the programme will arrive at 8:00 pm with the running of the Bahrain Oaks, sponsored by Al Muzdaher Stud. The 1,800-metre contest for four-year-olds will offer BHD 20,000 and feature Anfal, Evergreen, Illuminate, Intelligence, and Mind Your Manners.

The first of two major feature races will be held at 8:40 pm with The Anchorman Cup, sponsored by Howden, over 2,000 metres. With BHD 80,000 on offer, Westridge, Wave Rider, Merlin’s Beard, Rollajam, and Salamanca Lad will compete in a high-profile middle-distance event.

Sprint specialists will return to the spotlight at 9:20 pm for The Hawar Cup, sponsored by Cebarco, run over 1,200 metres and also worth BHD 80,000. Another Baar, Roman Dragon, Dairerin, and Burdett will line up in the evening’s fastest feature race.

The nine-race programme will conclude at 9:50 pm with a 1,000-metre sprint for three-year-olds and above carrying prize money of BHD 8,000. Members Only, Sinatra, Blues Queen, Alhadba, and Raheel will round out the night in a compact closing contest.
