Race No. 6 on the card, The Kailashpat Singhania Trophy, a Class II contest for horses rated 60 to 86, unfolded over 1600 metres at 4:00 PM on Wednesday, 21 January 2026, during the Royal Western India Turf Club Mumbai Meeting 2025/26 (Ninth Day). Delivering one of the afternoon’s most assured performances, Opus Dei powered home to score for trainer Imtiaz A. Sait, with Neeraj Rawal executing a polished ride for owner Mr C Aryama Sundaram, adding a significant chapter to the Mumbai race result 21 January narrative.

Settled into a smooth rhythm through the early stages, Opus Dei travelled comfortably as the field sorted itself out down the backstretch. Rawal timed his move to perfection, allowing the gelding to gradually lengthen stride entering the straight. When asked for a final effort, Opus Dei responded willingly, asserting clear control inside the last furlong and keeping his rivals at bay with authority and composure.

Singer Sargent put in a determined chase to finish second, with Amyn Merchant riding for trainer Faisal A. Abbas, staying on resolutely without ever quite bridging the decisive gap. Close behind, Eagle Day, partnered by A. Prakash and trained by P. Shroff, finished on strongly to claim third, rounding out a competitive top three in fine order.

With the Kailashpat Singhania Trophy decided, attention now turns swiftly to the Edgar DeSylva Salver at 4:30 PM, a race expected to further elevate the tempo as the Mumbai card builds toward its concluding highlights.
