The competitive tempo of the Calcutta Races Winter Meeting continued on Fourth Day, Saturday, 17th January, 2026, as Race No. 3 — The Army Service Corps (ASC) Cup — was decided in emphatic fashion over 1400 metres at 2:30 PM. In this Class III contest for horses rated 41–66 (21–46 eligible), Fable produced a polished performance under P. Trevor, delivering a decisive victory for trainer Aashay Doctor and the winning owners M/s Sarainaga Racing Pvt Ltd, stopping the clock at 1:25.710. The result added another notable chapter to the Kolkata race result 17 January, as the gelding stamped his class with authority.
Breaking cleanly and settling into a comfortable rhythm, Fable was ridden with patience through the early stages before being steadily brought into contention approaching the final bend. Trevor timed his challenge to perfection, allowing the mare to lengthen stride in the straight and assert clear superiority in the final furlong, drawing away with confidence to seal the contest.
Anigraha (J: Suraj Narredu, T: Vijay Singh) kept up the chase gamely and finished second in 1:26.184, while Oh My Darling (J: P. Tejeshwar, T: Vikash Jaiswal) stayed on resolutely to secure third place in 1:26.256, with the trio well separated at the finish.
With the ASC Cup settled, attention at the course now shifts swiftly to the upcoming Eastern Command Cup, scheduled for 3:00 PM, as the Winter Meeting continues to gather momentum at Calcutta Racecourse.
