The Winter Meeting action at the Royal Calcutta Turf Club continued to gather momentum on Sunday, 11th January, 2026, and the Kolkata race result 11 January narrative gained another decisive chapter with Race No. 9 – The Black Pearl Cup Division I, a Class IV contest for horses rated 21–46 (1–26 eligible), run over 1400 metres at 4:00 PM.
Amaze And Inspire stamped his authority in style, delivering a confident performance for trainer Shyam S. Habbu under a polished ride from A. Prakash, racing in the colours of Mr Vikram Bachhawat rep. M/s Bachhawat Farms Pvt Ltd, Dr Ram H. Shroff & Mr Raj H. Shroff rep. M/s Stride Livestock Pvt Ltd, Mr Subodh Maskara, Mr Rupit Sanat Patel & Mr Sanjay Damodardas Shah.
From the gates, the pace was genuine, with the field settling quickly into rhythm as Amaze And Inspire was positioned to strike without being rushed. A. Prakash allowed the filly to travel comfortably through the early stages before asking him to improve approaching the turn. Once balanced for the run home, the winner responded gamely, asserting in the final furlong to edge clear and seal the verdict with something in hand.
The runner-up honours went to Contessina (J: Suraj Narredu, T: Satish Narredu), who kept on resolutely after being prominent through the race, while Cash N Run (J: Vishal N. Bunde, T: Sabeel Shariff) stayed on to claim third, ensuring a competitive finish among the leading trio.
With Division I settled, attention swiftly turned to The Black Pearl Cup Division II, scheduled for 4:30 PM, as the Winter Meeting promised more tactical battles and compelling finishes as the afternoon progressed at Kolkata.
