The third day of the Winter Meeting at the Royal Calcutta Turf Club continued to deliver competitive racing, and the Kolkata race result 11 January added another sharp sprint to the afternoon narrative with a decisive performance in Race 4.
Run at 1:30 PM on Sunday, 11 January 2026, Race No. 4 – The Hall of Famer Cup Div I, a Class III contest for horses rated 41–66 (21–46 eligible) over 1200 metres, saw APEROL assert himself with authority. Ridden with confidence by Gaurav Singh, the B Rajender Reddy-trained runner justified strong support, quickening smartly to land the spoils for owner Ms Ankita in convincing fashion.
Settled into a handy rhythm through the early stages, Aperol travelled smoothly as the field negotiated the sprint trip. Gaurav Singh timed his move to perfection, asking his mount for an effort approaching the final furlong, where Aperol responded willingly. Once in the clear, he powered past his rivals and stretched away late, sealing the result without serious challenge.
Oh My Darling (J: M S Deora, T: Vikash Jaiswal) stayed on gamely to claim second, having chased the winner through the straight, while stablemate Clever Hans (J: Varun, T: Vikash Jaiswal) finished on steadily to secure third.
With The Hall of Famer Cup Div I decided, attention now turns to The Hall of Famer Cup Div II, scheduled for 2:00 PM, as the Winter Meeting at Kolkata rolls on with more competitive action to come.
