In an exciting finale to the fourth day of the Mumbai Meeting 2025/26, ASHWA GYPSY (J: Haridas Gore, T: Sanjay Kolse) stormed to victory in Race 6, The Korea Racing Authority Trophy, a Class IV contest for Indian horses aged four years and over, rated 20 to 46. Covering 1400m in 1:23:334, the impressive winner carried the colours of Mr Ravinder Pal Singh Chauhan, adding a glittering highlight to the day’s racing action. The Mumbai race results 14 December saw punters thrilled by this decisive performance in the closing race of the meeting.
From the start, ASHWA GYPSY positioned prominently, maintaining a strong pace along the rails while keeping close tabs on STAR IMPACT. Haridas Gore timed his finishing burst perfectly, finding an extra gear in the final 200m to pull clear of the field and cross the line with authority, showcasing both composure and tactical awareness.
Runner-up honours went to STAR IMPACT (J: Vivek G., T: Aman Altaf Hussain) in 1:23:587, who battled valiantly but was unable to match the winner’s finishing speed. CHELSEA (J: S. Zervan, T: P. S. Chouhan) secured third place in 1:24:160, producing a strong late surge to claim a spot on the podium.
Earlier in the day, the action had already produced some notable performances. Race 1, The R. J. Kolah Trophy over 2000m, saw EVALDO (J: David Allan, T: Aman Altaf Hussain) claim the win for owner Mr K Manoj Kumar, followed by SHUBANKAR (J: P. Trevor, T: Karthik Ganapathy) and CHARLIE (J: Bhawani Singh, T: Vinesh). Race 2, The M. N. Nazir Trophy (1600m), went to BREAK POINT (J: Akshay Kumar, T: P. S. Chouhan) for owners Mr Jatin L Trivedi & Mr Nitin H Jain rep J N Racing & Breeders LLP, with EAGLE DAY and TREAT filling the minor placings.
The Mahalakshmi Sprint Million (Race 3, 1200m) produced a front-running victory for JADE (J: Vivek G., T: P. Shroff), representing Mr Vijay B Shirke, Mrs Vijay B Shirke, Mr Jay V Shirke & Mrs Daisy K D B Mehta & Mr Dara K Mehta rep Darashaw Bloodstock Pvt Ltd, with MISS AMERICAN PIE and CREDENCE completing the podium. In the feature Grade I contest, The Indian 1000 Guineas (Race 4, 1600m), KAVYA (J: David Allan, T: M. K. Jadhav) thrilled the crowd for owner Mr Prashant Nagar rep SKJ Thoroughbreds Pvt Ltd, with FYNBOS and SOCIAL BUTTERFLY finishing second and third. The Jehangir P. Dubash Trophy (Race 5, 1000m) was captured by FOXY (J: Aditya Waydande, T: Behram Cama) for Mr Jaydev M Mody rep J M Livestock Pvt Ltd, followed by BEE MAGICAL and MOONLIGHT KISS.
