The opening race of the day, Race 1 – The R. J. Kolah Trophy, a Class I contest for horses rated 80 and above, set the tone for the Royal Western India Turf Club, Mumbai Meeting 2025/26, on Sunday, 14th December 2025. Covering 2000 meters at 2:30 PM, EVALDO (J: David Allan, T: Aman Altaf Hussain) delivered a commanding performance, clocking 2:01:521 to secure a decisive victory for owner Mr K Manoj Kumar in front of an enthusiastic crowd. This Mumbai race result 14 December marks a strong start to the meeting for both horse and connections.

EVALDO settled patiently in the early stages, tracking the pace before launching a well-timed move approaching the home turn. With David Allan expertly urging the gelding forward, EVALDO showcased a powerful turn of foot in the final 400 meters, pulling clear of his rivals with authority and composure. The gelding’s ability to accelerate while maintaining balance proved pivotal in clinching the win.

The runner-up spoils went to SHUBANKAR (J: P. Trevor, T: Karthik Ganapathy), who kept close tabs on the winner throughout but could not match EVALDO’s finishing burst. SHUBANKAR finished strongly to secure second place. CHARLIE (J: Bhawani Singh, T: Vinesh) ran a determined race to claim third, completing the podium in a commendable effort.

With Race 1 concluded, attention now turns to the eagerly anticipated M. N. Nazir Trophy at 3:00 PM, a contest expected to test both speed and strategy as the day’s feature races unfold.
