King Abdulaziz Racecourse will stage an important weekend of racing on Friday 12 December and Saturday 13 December 2025, with attention set to focus on Lelah Doroh (KSA), who will top a field of seven runners in the SAR165,000 domestic Group Three JCSA Board of Directors Cup on Saturday. The White Stable runner of King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz & Sons will arrive after landing his ninth career success in Taif three starts ago, and he will look to improve on his recent efforts when finishing second in Riyadh and seventh over the same 2000m trip in the Group 2 HRH Prince Mohammed bin Saud Al Kabeer Cup.
Ibn Toulon (KSA), who finished fourth in that contest, will return to oppose him under Alexis Moreno, while the White Stable will further strengthen their hand with Dhydan (KSA) set to line up under Fawaz Alshammari.
The Red Stable of Prince Faisal Bin Khaled Bin Abdulaziz will make up nearly half of Saturday’s field with three runners. Their leading hope will be Tahzeem (KSA), the mount of Ricardo Ferreira, who was fifth in the HRH Prince Mohammed bin Saud Al Kabeer Cup and will come into the race after finishing third in last weekend’s 2400m domestic Group 1 The Crown Prince Cup for locally bred horses. Mashmookh (KSA), who finished down the field in that same race, will go again for Adel Alfouraidi, and the Red Stable team will be completed by Abo Shaikhah (KSA) and Tariq Almansour.
Saturday’s card will also feature Race 11, an SAR120,000 Open over 1600m, where the White Stable will introduce Irish import Kortez Bay (IRE). Formerly trained by Sheila Lavery in County Meath, where he won two of his 18 starts, the four-year-old will make his Saudi debut for Bader Rizaiq. He will meet a strong field of 15 rivals, including the consistent Final Destination (GB) for Ferreira, trainer Thamer Aldaihani, and owner Sheikh Abdullah Homoud Almalek Alsabah, as well as Henry Q (USA) from the stable of Nicolas Bachalard.
The eighth race on Saturday, the Arabian Horses Open over 1600m and worth SAR120,000, will provide a promising opening for Turki Al Khalediah II (KSA) to aim for another victory. He will return to action for the first time since his Taif triumph in September, following a sequence of three wins in Riyadh last season, and he will once again be partnered by Alfouraidi as he faces 18 competitors.
On Friday, the second domestic Group Three of the weekend will be staged when 17 juveniles compete for SAR165,000 in the Ministry of National Guard Cup. The Red and White Stables, along with Aldaihani, will field strong teams and will rely on several last-time-out winners. Among them, Alhisham (USA) of the White Stable will be one of the standout contenders after scoring by more than seven lengths on debut last month.
Also on Friday, 10 runners will contest the SAR120,000 Prep for King Saud Cup over 2000m, headed by the Red Stable’s strong stayer My Frankel (GB). The day will conclude with a competitive field of 16 declared for the SAR150,000 JCSA Cup over 1200m, rounding out an action-packed start to the racing weekend.
The weekend fixtures, featured in the Saudi Arabia race cards 13 December, will bring together key contenders from the White and Red Stables across a strong two-day programme.
