The third race of the Mumbai Meeting 2025/26 delivered its first big highlight of the afternoon as The Sir Rahimtoola Chinoy Cup unfolded at 3:30 PM over 1600 metres, a Class IV contest for Indian horses rated 20 to 46. In the Mumbai race result 7 December, it was Brasilier who stole the spotlight with a polished and professional performance. Guided with trademark confidence by P. Trevor and trained by P. Shroff, the colt stopped the clock at 1:37:389, scoring for owners Mr K. N. Dhunjibhoy, Mr Z. K. Dhunjibhoy & Ms Anosha Meyers (rep. Five Stars Shipping Co. Pvt. Ltd.) & Mr Vispi R. Patel.
Brasilier broke smoothly and settled into a rhythmic stride early on, allowing Trevor to position him exactly where the pace suited. As the field fanned out approaching the final two furlongs, the favourite showed both patience and authority, cruising past the early leaders before quickening with conviction. Once Trevor pushed the button, the result was never in doubt — Brasilier lengthened beautifully and kept a firm hold on the race all the way to the line.
Behind him, Giant Gold produced a game effort under Aditya Waydande for trainer Shazaan Shah, staying on resolutely to take second. Ekatarina, ridden by Neeraj Rawal and trained by Imtiaz A. Sait, followed them home in third, completing the frame with a determined finish as the trio pulled clear of the remainder.
With The Sir Rahimtoola Chinoy Cup wrapped up in style, anticipation now builds for the next feature — The A. C. Ardeshir Trophy (Grade III) at 4:00 PM, where the competition is set to stiffen further.
