The fifth day of the Calcutta Races Autumn Meeting on Sunday, 16th November 2025, witnessed a thrilling contest in the 4th race, The Ocean and Beyond Handicap, a Class II event for horses rated 61-86 (and 41-66 eligible), run over a fast 1100 metres. At 2:30 PM, Sky Force (J: P. Trevor, T: Arti Doctor) stormed home for owners M/s Manjri Horse Breeders’ Farm Pvt Ltd, Dr S P Sardeshmukh, Mr Viral Devkumar Doctor, Mr Vishal Kamal Doctor, Deciding Factor LLP, Mr Devkumar Devendra Doctor & Mr Hemang Devendra Doctor, stopping the clock at a sharp 1:06.663, showcasing both speed and composure in a competitive field.
From the break, Sky Force took an assertive position just off the early leader, conserving energy while tracking the pace. Entering the final 200 metres, Trevor unleashed a perfectly timed drive, and Sky Force responded with a blistering acceleration to surge past the frontrunners, securing a decisive and stylish victory. The gelding’s balance, determination, and tactical positioning proved too strong for the challengers in the sprint finish.
La Dominate (J: R Vaibhav, T: B Mahesh) held on well for second place in 1:07.030, keeping Sky Force within striking distance for much of the stretch. Roman Spirit (J: P Tejeshwar, T: B Rajender Reddy) closed late to take third in 1:07.102, ensuring the top trio were separated by mere fractions of a second in an electrifying finish.
As the crowd applauded the thrilling sprint, attention quickly shifted to the day’s next feature, The Mayfowl Cup, set to run at 3:00 PM, promising another high-octane showdown for Calcutta racing fans.
