A chilly Toronto morning will set the stage for another thrilling race day at Woodbine Racetrack on Thursday, November 13, 2025. With temperatures hovering around 2°C, the synthetic All Weather Track will once again welcome a full day of competitive racing featuring eight exciting contests spanning maiden, claiming and special weight categories. From two-year-old hopefuls to seasoned campaigners, the day promises to blend youthful energy, tactical brilliance and late-season determination across every furlong.
The opening event, a Maiden Special Weight over six furlongs for two-year-olds will burst into action at 4:00 am with a handsome purse of $115,100. This juvenile dash will see six fresh faces lining up all seeking their first taste of glory. Among them VOODOO DOLL, ADA CLARE, STRUCK GOLD and FLYONBYE will likely command much of the attention. Mark E. Casse’s VOODOO DOLL has been catching eyes in morning drills while Kevin Attard’s ADA CLARE will look to use her light weight advantage to strike early. With the mix of fillies and colts making their debut, the opener is expected to set an electric tone for the day.
Race 2, a Claiming sprint over five and a half furlongs carrying a purse of $26,200 will unfold at 4:29 am. This heat features a large and competitive field of eleven fillies and mares each carrying hopes of a strong finish before winter sets in. NAUGHTY DESTINY, ZIPFIRE, JINX ME and NOT SO SWIFT are the names expected to feature prominently as the gates crash open. Martin Drexler’s NAUGHTY DESTINY looks poised to make a strong showing while ZIPFIRE for Sid C. Attard has been consistent in recent outings. With the claiming tag set around $5,000, this contest will see riders jostling for every inch in a fierce dash to the wire.
The third race, another Claiming contest scheduled for 4:58 am over seven furlongs also offers $26,200 in prize money. Ten runners will take part and this line up has all the makings of a gripping mid-card duel. The experienced GOOGLY EYES, GATHER, ALA TURKA and BRAZILIAN LEGACY headline this mixed-age field. Drexler’s GOOGLY EYES comes in with solid form, while Tony Gattellaro’s GATHER could be a real threat with a well-timed ride. With so many mares returning from competitive form cycles this race may hinge on late momentum down the long Woodbine stretch.
At 5:27 am, the fourth contest a Maiden Claiming event over 1 1/16 miles with a $32,500 purse will invite fourteen fillies to battle it out in a test of stamina and patience. In such a crowded line up, it will be the balance between pace and endurance that determines the victor. The promising VERI COLLECTED, SUNNYVILLE, SISTER MARJORIE and CONQUER THE STORM will stand out among the rest. Kevin Attard’s VERI COLLECTED with her strong ownership backing from Tall Oaks Farm is expected to attract support while Cary Brooks’ SUNNYVILLE could surprise if she settles early. Expect a long stretch drive with several still in contention close to home.
Race 5 slated for 5:56 am will bring together a strong field of ten fillies and mares in a Claiming event over seven furlongs offering $29,400. This looks a race for seasoned campaigners with form and grit likely to play the deciding roles. KATHERINE’S GEM, LOIS LEN, GIZMO’S B F F and MITOLE POWER appear the key names to follow. Mark E. Casse’s KATHERINE’S GEM will carry strong credentials into this while Debra E. Rombis’ duo of LOIS LEN and GIZMO’S B F F could pose a serious double threat. The contest is expected to be run at a good clip with the leaders facing a stern challenge in the final furlong.
The sixth event, returning to the Maiden Special Weight division at 6:25 am will test eight three-year-olds over 1 1/8 miles for an impressive purse of $115,100. The longer trip and deep field will demand both class and endurance. Among the runners SALTED, ONEHOTMESS, HELLO STRANGER and AFLEET FLATTER look particularly intriguing. Mark E. Casse’s SALTED, a filly by Don Alberto Corporation has the pedigree and stable confidence to deliver a standout performance. Kevin Attard’s ONEHOTMESS and AFLEET FLATTER could both make their presence felt late making this one of the most anticipated races of the afternoon.
The next race of the day, a Claiming contest worth $26,200 over 1 1/16 miles will go off at 6:54 am and features eight hardy contenders. It will bring together a mix of developing stayers and experienced campaigners with AWE INSPIRED, GUARD OF HONOUR, PERFECT PLAY and KING PUTT shaping up as the likely protagonists. John A. Ross’s AWE INSPIRED has shown steady progress and will be one to watch while Devon Gittens’ GUARD OF HONOUR could assert his experience in the closing stages. Expect a tactical race with position and patience playing crucial roles down the home stretch.
