The second day of the Bangalore Winter Meeting delivered thrilling action on Sunday, 09 November 2025, at the Bangalore Turf Club (BTC). The spotlight fell on Race 7 – The Gomos Plate, a Class II contest for horses rated 60 to 85, run over 1400 metres at 4:30 PM. In a polished display of pace and precision, Efficacy (J: Shreyas Singh S) surged to a decisive victory for trainer S.S. Attaollahi, clocking 1:23.66. The gelding, owned by Mr Daulat Chhabria, Mr Maloji Baburao Bhosale, and M/s A G Bloodstock LLP, showcased exceptional form to outclass seasoned competitors in this high-rated event.
Breaking smartly from the gates, Efficacy settled comfortably behind the early leaders before making his move approaching the final furlong. Jockey Shreyas Singh S judged the pace to perfection, urging his mount forward with calculated timing as the field entered the straight. Responding strongly to his rider’s call, Efficacy quickened impressively in the closing stages to seize control and pull away from the challengers in a well-measured finish, confirming his growing reputation as a rising contender in Bangalore’s circuit.
The runner-up honours went to Inspire (J: Antony Raj S, T: Arjun Mangalorkar), who ran gallantly to finish just a neck behind in 1:23.78, keeping the winner honest till the end. Victoria Doresaani (J: L. Alex Rozario, T: Irfan Ghatala) came in third, clocking 1:24.51 after staying on late to secure the final spot on the board.
With The Gomos Plate concluded in fine fashion, attention now turns to the next contest of the afternoon — The Malaprabha Plate, set to go off at 5:00 PM, promising yet another exciting chapter in the Bangalore Winter Meeting.
