The fourth race of the Calcutta Races Autumn Meeting (Third Day) on Thursday, 6th November 2025, at the Kolkata Racecourse, witnessed an authoritative performance in The Cherry Handicap, a Class IV event for horses rated 21–46 (1–26 eligible) run over 1600 meters at 2:45 PM. Togo, owned by Mr. Enrico R. Piperno, Mr. Prateek Bhalotia, Mr. Vivek Choudhary, Mr. Prashanth Sharma, Mr. Simarpreet Singh, and M/s Manjri Horse Breeders’ Farm Pvt. Ltd., produced a commanding performance under jockey Arul J H for trainer N. Darashah, registering victory in 1:40.491.

Breaking alertly from the gates, Togo wasted little time in asserting early control, dictating the tempo with confident strides down the backstretch. Jockey Arul J H judged the pace to perfection, ensuring the gelding stayed comfortably clear of pressure through the turn. As challengers loomed in the straight, Togo dug deep and extended his advantage, displaying both stamina and resolve to secure a convincing win over the mile trip — a performance that spoke volumes of his conditioning and tactical maturity.

Laamika (J: Imran Chisty, T: Rutherford Alford) finished a determined second in 1:41.339, staying on well in the closing stages but unable to match the winner’s sustained gallop. Cortado (J: Antony Raj S., T: Aashay Doctor) followed closely behind to claim third in 1:41.427, rounding off a well-contested finish among the leading trio.

With The Cherry Handicap concluded in style, the afternoon’s excitement rolled forward to the next event on the card — The Stand Off Handicap, slated for 3:15 PM, as racing action at the Calcutta Autumn Meeting continued to captivate enthusiasts at Kolkata Racecourse.
