Deauville-La Touques Shines with Nine-Race Spectacle

Deauville-La Touques Racecourse hosts nine-race card featuring Prix Zeddaan and Prix Irish River Listed contests.

Situated in Normandy, France, the HIPPODROME DE DEAUVILLE-LA TOUQUES staged a full nine-race card on Sunday, 2nd November, running from 1:58pm to 6:45pm. The afternoon featured two notable Listed contests: the Prix Zeddaan (2-year-olds) and the Prix Irish River – Polytrack Challenge (3-year-olds + on the Polytrack). With autumn in the air and the All-Weather surface in play, connections brought forward horses prepping for winter campaigns or stepping out after summer runs — making for an engaging mixture of form and ambition.

Race 1: PRIX LITTLE MANJO (1:58pm, 1900 metres)

The card opened with energy as QUESTURA raced to victory in 1.56.64, under a confident ride from jockey MME ROSE VALAIS. Trainer FH. GRAFFARD timed the preparation well, breeder HARAS DE LA PERELLE saw their lines rewarded, and owner STAMFORD BLOODSTOCK celebrated the first win of the day. LHOMMAIZE chased strongly to the line, while RIYAK kept on for a solid third.

Race 2: PRIX ZEDDAAN (2:33pm, 1400 metres)

In the second race, CIELO DI ROMA produced a composed finish to claim it in 1.22.71. With THEO BACHELOT’s timing and G. BIETOLINI’s set-up spot-on, breeders S.A.S. HAUTE VALLEE and MME C. HUTCHINSON and owner MR MIKE PIETRANGELO had reason to relish the result. KOZLOVSKHA ran on well for second, while SAGARMATHA completed the frame with credit.

Race 3: PRIX IRISH RIVER – POLYTRACK CHALLENGE (3:15pm, 1400 metres)

This event carried the Listed Prix Irish River – Polytrack Challenge for 3-year-olds and older on the all-weather surface. NO LUNCH came through in 1.21.21, aided by MAXIME GUYON’s fine ride and C. FERLAND’s preparation shining through. Breeder as well as owner WERTHEIMER & FRERE added a significant win to their record and enjoyed the prestige. MOUNT ATHOS and FAST RAAJ upheld the quality expected in a listed event.

Race 4: PRIX LA BAMBA (3:50pm, 1300 metres)

In race four, MISS CHIQUITA asserted control late to win in 1.18. 4. ROSARIO MANGIONE judged the ride well, A. BOTTI’s game-plan held up, breeder EARL HARAS DE CISA found reward, and owners M.E.KISBER and A WALTER CONSULTING took satisfaction in the result. MELUSINE DU HOULEY pressed hard for second, and PERFECTA ran on strongly for third.

Race 5: PRIX NONOALCO (4:25pm, 1300 metres)

This contest featured the Listed Prix Zeddaan for 2-year-olds. MICHAEL THE GREAT delivered under pressure, finishing in 1.18.25. Jockey TONY PICCONE produced a well-timed run, trainer HA. PANTALL’s preparation shone, breeder W. NEUMANN added a noteworthy winner, and owner WESTMINSTER RACE HORSES SP ZOO celebrated in style. NEKKETSU and AEDION both upheld the class of the race.

Race 6: PRIX DU PAYS DE BRAY (5:00pm, 1900 metres)

The sixth race saw QUIET KING cross in 1.56.65, guided by a confident THEO BACHELOT and supported by trainer S. WATTEL’s effective work behind the scenes. Breeder HARAS DE LA PERELLE’s efforts paid off and owner MME ISABELLE CORBANI took home the spoils. PERIHELIO ran on well for second, with MON COMEDIEN holding for third.

Race 7: PRIX DU PAYS DE CAUX (5:35pm, 1900 metres)

Heading toward the final stretch of the day, BOTICELLI claimed the seventh race in 1.56.74. With AUGUSTIN MADAMET riding smartly and M. RULEC getting the timing right, breeders ECURIE HARAS DU CADRAN and SL FAMILY RACING saw the result, and owner MR STEFFEN MOLKS enjoyed the victory. KALAFA stayed in contention until the line, and [3rd horse’s name] completed the minor placing.

Race 8: PRIX DU PLATEAU DE MADRIE (6:10pm, 1900 metres)

The next race brought another notable contest, and CLASSIC SOVEREIGN took it in 1.57.86, showing both determination and class. Under MARVIN GRANDIN’s ride and J. LEROY’s preparation, breeder OWASEYF SYNDICATE saw the payoff and owner MR GUY HANOUNA enjoyed the moment. RUE POUSSIN stayed in touch until the end, with FURY BOXING rounding out the top three.

Race 9: PRIX DU PLATEAU D’EVREUX-SAINT-ANDRE (6:45pm, 1900 metres)

The meeting concluded in fine fashion as FELICIA STORM raced home in 1.57.98, with ANTOINE HAMELIN delivering under late-day pressure and M. GUARNIERI ending on a high. Breeders MME G. MIDDLEBROOK and G. MIDDLEBROOK collected another winner and owner MR MAURIZIO GUARNIERI closed the day delighted. STAR OF ARTABAN made a strong bid for second, and SAN FANTASMA held well for a credible third.

From start to finish this afternoon at Deauville delivered racing with both purpose and atmosphere — Listed class, emerging talent and seasoned performers all had their moments. With the French autumn campaign still in motion, the next fixture at Deauville is already drawing attention, and today’s winners may well be front-of-mind when the next chapter unfolds.
