The 5th race of the 14th day at the Mysore (Monsoon) Races 2025 — The H.P. Viswanathan Memorial Trophy — a Class II contest for horses rated 60 and above, run over 1400 metres at 3:30 PM on Saturday, 25th October 2025, saw an exhilarating performance from Irish Coffee. Trained by K. Pradeep Annaiah, ridden confidently by L. Alex Rozario, and owned by Dr. C. N. Devayya, Irish Coffee displayed a perfect blend of speed and determination to clock 1:24.212, clinching the prestigious trophy in fine style.
Breaking alertly and maintaining a steady rhythm through the backstretch, Irish Coffee settled nicely before making a decisive move approaching the final furlong. Under Rozario’s measured guidance, the bay gelding surged ahead with an assertive turn of foot, leaving the chasing pack behind to secure a memorable victory.
Kanya Rashi (J: Antony Raj S., T: Vinesh V. Naik) fought bravely to finish second, clocking 1:24.231, narrowly missing the top spot by a whisker. D Gold Star (J: K. Sai Kiran, T: Vishal Yadav) closed late to take third in 1:24.415, rounding off a thrilling three-way finish that kept the crowd on edge until the final stride.
With the H.P. Viswanathan Memorial Trophy concluded, all eyes now turn to the day’s feature attraction — The Mysore Race Club Anniversary Cup at 4:00 PM, promising another dose of high-stakes excitement at the Mysore Racecourse.
