The 7th race of the Pune Meeting 2025 Special Race Day, held on Friday, 24th October 2025, witnessed a confident display of ability as Hazel (J: Vivek G, T: Prasanna Kumar P) captured The To The Manor Born Plate (Div II) for maiden Indian horses aged three years. Covering the 1400-metre trip in an impressive 1:26:116, the filly claimed the victory under the ownership of Mr & Mrs Shapoor P. Mistry (rep. Manjri Horse Breeders’ Farm Pvt. Ltd.), Mr D. R. Thacker (rep. DT Racing & Breeders LLP), and Mr Ashok Ranpise, marking a proud moment for the connections.
Hazel broke well from the gates and settled neatly in mid-pack before being urged forward approaching the final bend. Jockey Vivek G timed his move to perfection, steering the Prasanna Kumar-trained runner through an inside gap to take control in the last furlong. The filly maintained her rhythm and drew clear in the closing strides, displaying both maturity and determination rarely seen in a maiden company.
Jackson (J: A. Sandesh, T: Dallas Todywalla) fought hard in pursuit but had to settle for second, clocking 1:27:445 after keeping close tabs on the winner for much of the straight. Magical Moments (J: Mustakim Alam, T: Narendra Lagad) followed a length behind in third at 1:27:848, finishing strongly to complete the frame.
With Hazel’s success igniting cheers across Pune Racecourse, attention now turns to the upcoming The Star Millionaire Plate, scheduled for 5:00 PM, promising yet another thrilling contest to wrap up an exciting afternoon of racing.
