The first day of the Calcutta Races, Autumn Meeting, on Thursday, 23rd October 2025, featured an exciting 4th Race – The Daring Don Handicap, a Class III contest over 1100 metres for horses rated 41-66 (rated 21-46 eligible) at 03:15 PM. In a display of speed and timing, Kay Star (J: Imran Chisty) powered to victory for trainer Rutherford Alford and owners M/s Cherie Sports Pvt Ltd & Mr Rakesh Bathra, clocking a winning time of 1:06.537.
The race unfolded with a brisk early pace as the field jostled for position. The winner settled just off the pace, conserving energy while tracking the leaders. In the final furlong, Imran Chisty expertly urged the sprinter forward, unleashing a decisive burst that left competitors trailing and secured a clear victory.
The runner-up was Clever Hans (J: Varun, T: Vikash Jaiswal), finishing strongly in 1:06.735 but unable to catch the front-runner. Completing the top three, SABAR (J: Akshay Kumar, T: Aashay Doctor) crossed the line in 1:06.976, showcasing late acceleration to stay in contention.
With the 4th Race concluded, attention now shifts to The Aazish Cup at 03:45 PM, promising another thrilling contest for enthusiasts at the Calcutta Autumn Meeting.
