Located in Western Australia, the KALGOORLIE-BOULDER RACECOURSE rounded off the 2025 campaign with a spirited seven-race program on Sunday, 19th October, running from 11:30am to 3:05pm. This meeting served as the official season finale for the club, offering racegoers one last chance to enjoy live thoroughbred action amid a warm Goldfields atmosphere. With soft track conditions listed as Good 4 and a meaningful line-up of races including handicaps and feature events, the day mixed solid form-testing with a sense of celebration — a fitting conclusion to the season.

Race 1: THANK YOU QWEST CRANES HANDICAP (11:30am, 1100 metres)

The opening contest set the tone as LAVISH CHARM crossed in 01:04.34, with jockey HOLLY NOTTLE delivering a polished ride. Trainer PETER FERNIE had the runner well prepared, breeder PETERS INVESTMENTS PTY LTD saw their investment rewarded, and owner MR A M INGLIS enjoyed the early success. BLITZEM BABE stayed on strongly to take second, while MARGOT’S BULLSEYE held on gamely for third.

Race 2: THANK YOU BLUE SPEC DRILLING HANDICAP (12:06pm, 1100 metres)

In the second race, ZING TO WIN asserted themselves in the finish to win in 01:04.69. TREASURED QUEEN ran on bravely for second, and SURE THING stayed on for third.

Race 3: THANK YOU REBEL DAM BUILDERS HANDICAP (12:45pm, 1400 metres)

Race three brought a strong field and a good display from JUST FAMOUS, who crossed in 01:24.10. With jockey LUCY FIORE’s, Jockey of the Year 2025, timing spot on and trainer PETER FERNIE having the mount ready, breeder PETERS INVESTMENTS PTY LTD and owners MR A M INGLIS and MR R M BENNETT had cause to cheer. DUBLIN RED pressed hard to the line, while PLEASE MIZTER kept up the effort for a credible third.

Race 4: FORCE BY EMECO RAY MCGEE MEMORIAL MAIDEN (1:20pm, 1200 metres)

Mid-card saw SLIPPERY FISH deliver a standout effort to claim victory in 01:11.57. Jockey LUCY FIORE, Jockey of the Year 2025, executed the ride with confidence, trainer PETER FERNIE had positioned the horse well, breeder MR A INGLIS saw the pedigree pay off, and owner MR A M INGLIS shared in the moment. VAIN UNIVERSE remained close until late, and MY KRYPTONITE rounded out the top three with determination.

Race 5: TABTOUCH REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP: ROAD TO ASCOT (1:50pm, 1200 metres)

The fifth race carried extra weight, and DREAMERS NEVER DIE rose to the occasion, winning in 01:10.17. With jockey LUCY FIORE’s, Jockey of the Year 2025, execution, trainer PETER FERNIE’s plan, breeder RANGAL PARK STUD’s return and owners MR A M INGLIS, MR P H JACKSON, MRS K A FERNIE, MR A K HERL and MR L K FERNIE’s satisfaction, the victory felt particularly solid. TWIST OF GOLD ran strongly for second, and PENNED finished with a steady effort for third.

Race 6: ESPERANCE BAY TURF CLUB HANDICAP (2:30pm, 1300 metres)

In the penultimate contest, EVERLASTING SPIRIT crossed the post in 01:18.14 after a well-judged ride by ZEPHEN JOHNSTON-PORTER, Apprentice of the Year 2025. Trainer HELEN HARDING’s preparation came to the fore, breeder MARSHER NOMINEES was pleased, and owner MRS H M HARDING celebrated the result. WHATYOUTALKINBOUT stayed on valiantly, and CHIPILLY kept up the pace to claim third.

Race 7: TONKIN NEWMARKET HANDICAP (3:05pm, 1600 metres)

The meeting closed on a high note as MONTY ZOOMER surged to victory in 01:38.48. With NATIKA RIORDAN delivering under pressure, trainer BROCK LEWTHWAITE seeing their work rewarded, breeder and owner MR P V MORLEY gaining another win and soaking in the moment — it was a fitting end to the day. RULING DAME made a solid bid for second, while MYSTICAL WISDOM stayed on well to finish third.
