The fifth race of the Pune Meeting 2025 on Sunday, 12th October, delivered high-octane action as The Noshir & Dolly Dhunjibhoy Sprint Million (Grade III), a 1200-metre terms race for Indian horses aged four years and over, unfolded at 3:30 PM. In a commanding display of speed and precision, Shambala (J: Antony Raj S., T: Nazzak B Chenoy), owned by Miss Nazzak B Chenoy & Mr J. H. Damania, stormed home to victory, stopping the clock at 1:06:948 and asserting dominance in the sprint division.

From the break, Shambala positioned prominently, tracking the pace with measured patience before unleashing a decisive turn of foot in the final 200 metres. Antony Raj S. timed the move to perfection, guiding the runner past rivals with an authority that left little doubt about the outcome. Shambala’s combination of early positioning and strong finishing speed proved the perfect formula for success over the straight course.

The runner-up honours went to Magileto (J: P. Trevor, T: Aman Altaf Hussain), who finished just behind in 1:06:996 after maintaining close proximity to the winner throughout the stretch. Christophany (J: Neeraj Rawal, T: Imtiaz A. Sait) completed the podium in 1:07:285, closing late but unable to challenge the top two.

With the sprint spectacle concluded, all eyes now shift to the villainous showdown of the day—the Villoo C. Poonawalla Pune Derby (Grade I) at 4:00 PM, promising a clash of the elite and a test of stamina, strategy, and sheer class on the track.
