The 3rd race of the Pune Meeting 2025 on Sunday, 12th October 2025, saw thrilling action with The Pune Police Commissioner’s Trophy, a Class IV contest for Indian horses rated 20 to 46 (0 to 19 eligible) over 1200 metres. Joondalup (J: C. Umesh, T: J E Mckeown), racing in the colours of Mr & Mrs Dilip Thomas representing The Rajagiri Rubber & Produce Company Limited, displayed blistering speed and composure to clock a winning time of 1:08:514, marking a memorable victory for the connections.
From the gates, Joondalup settled smoothly in mid-pack before unleashing a decisive turn of foot in the final 400 metres. Guided expertly by Umesh, the three-year-old surged past rivals with authority, establishing a clear lead in the closing strides and leaving little doubt about the outcome. The horse’s acceleration and tactical positioning proved instrumental in clinching the trophy.
Cinderella’s Dream (J: Aditya Waydande, T: Faisal A. Abbas) stayed close throughout and finished strongly to claim second in 1:08:852, while Starseed (J: T. S. Jodha, T: Nazzak B Chenoy) completed the trifecta in 1:08:921, rounding out an exciting top three finish in a tightly contested sprint.
