The third race of the Pune Special Race Day on Saturday, October 11, 2025, delivered pure speed and spectacle as Goddess of Dawn (J: Mukesh Kumar, T: Aman Altaf Hussain) stormed home to claim victory in The Pissarro Plate, a Class III race for Indian horses rated 40 to 66 (20 to 39 eligible), run over 1000 metres at 3:45 PM. Representing the ownership group of Mr Kapil Bahl, Mr Ashok Rupani, Mr Amarjeet Singh Narula, and Mr Waahiid Ali Khan (rep. Sshaawn Horses and Sports Pvt Ltd) along with Mr Rakesh R Kapoor, the mare stopped the clock at 0:57:514, securing a polished and commanding win.

Breaking alertly from the gates, Goddess of Dawn settled smartly under Mukesh Kumar’s patient handling, tracking the early leaders through the first half of the dash. As the field straightened for home, the Hussain-trained mare displayed an electric turn of foot, surging ahead inside the final 100 metres to seal a narrow yet decisive win — a performance marked by precision and poise from both horse and rider.

Lord Eric (J: P. Trevor, T: Dallas Todywalla) put up a spirited chase but had to settle for second, clocking 0:57:594, while Elusive Art (J: Ramswarup, T: Adhirajsingh Jodha) ran on gamely to finish third in 0:57:805, rounding off a closely contested finish that kept punters on edge till the wire.

With The Pissarro Plate wrapped up in thrilling fashion, all eyes now turn to the Panchshil Million at 4:15 PM, where the competition promises to rise another notch as Pune’s finest line up for big-race glory.
