The curtain came down on the Calcutta Races, Monsoon Meeting Tenth Day with the 11th race of the afternoon – The Ascriptive Handicap Div II, a Class IV contest for horses rated 21-46, run over 1600 metres at 5:00 PM on Sunday, 28th September 2025, at the historic Royal Calcutta Turf Club. In a polished display, Oh My Darling (J: Aleemuddin, T: Shafiq Khan) surged home to victory in a time of 1:42.618, racing in the colours of Mr Mohammed Shakeel.

The five-year-old grey mare, guided confidently by Aleemuddin, settled into rhythm before producing a decisive late burst inside the final furlong. Trainer Shafiq Khan’s charge showed both composure and determination, fending off late challengers and sealing the win with a neck to spare, much to the delight of her connections.

Keitaro (J: Imran Chisty, T: Rutherford Alford) pressed hard in the final strides but had to settle for second, finishing a close 1:42.775. Queen of Mafia (J: Suraj Narredu, T: B. Mahesh) produced a steady late effort to secure third, crossing the post in 1:43.404, rounding out a competitive finish to the day’s action.

With the day’s racing concluded, fans now turn their attention to the upcoming meetings at RCTC, where the stakes will rise and new contenders will emerge to light up the Kolkata racing season.
