The Monsoon Meeting’s eighth day at Calcutta Racecourse on Saturday, 20th September 2025, delivered a thrilling finish in the 4th race, The Nightjar Handicap Div II (Class IV: Horses rated 21–46, 1100m, 3:15 PM). Bundle Of Charm (J: Vishal N. Bunde, T: Sabeel Shariff), running in the silks of Mr Faiz Adam, showed speed and determination to edge out rivals and stop the clock at 1:07.761, sealing a well-deserved victory.
Breaking smartly and positioning early, Bundle Of Charm maintained a strong tempo throughout. As the field turned for home, the Shariff-trained runner quickened impressively under Bunde’s urging. Despite pressure from challengers in the final furlong, the winner held on gamely, displaying grit and class to secure the spoils.
The runner-up Oishika (J: R. S. Bhati, T: Shyam S. Habbu) came within striking distance but was denied by a narrow margin, clocking 1:07.809 in a brave effort. Close behind, Chililady (J: Nikhil Naidu, T: Shafiq Khan) produced a late run to claim third spot in 1:08.208, rounding off an exciting contest where fine margins separated the leading trio.
